v8 to v6 y pipe?

My buddy just redone a mild built 305. Can someone chime in and tell me the v6 y pipe will not bolt up to a v8 manifolt system? i thought it was closer together than the v8. Sorry if this has been answered but i couldnt find anything.
Hes wanting to put motor in this week and i could swear they are different
thanks

Re: v8 to v6 y pipe?

Not even close, plus the V6 has tiny pipes that will choke even a stock 305

Re: v8 to v6 y pipe?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.. i had to get another opinion to print for him. I told him the tubes were barely 2 inches on a 6 and most v8 manifolds were 2.5. He clames he can make it work. But thanks...
