I'm trying to decide which system would be better. I currently don't have a cat but was thinking of putting on a high flow cat but I'm worried that if I use GMMG it wont be as loud as my current set up which is 2.5in flowmaster 80 w/o cat. I like loud with a good tone and i currently have a cutout so i like the idea of the Borla but if it wasn't for that I'd probably go with GMMG. I want a new system because i want to get a better 3in flowing system and to get rid of the small leak coming from the cutout that wont go away and just put a high flow in its place so i don't have to pay 200 for an inspection sticker.
Does anyone that has either of these exhausts on their third gen live in or near Bristol, RI or Howell, NJ. I'm away at school thats why I have to locations.

i went over and looked at their site and its the same system for both. sounds very nice. i wonder if you can just buy the chambers and not the rest of the sustem?
i just noticed that they are only 2 1/2 inch pipes while borla are 3"

I was actually wondering that, I wasn't sure if the GMMG system was 3 in. to 2.5 in. tail pipes or is the whole system 2.5 in., it wasn't very clear on their web page. If its just 2.5 the whole way then I'm definitely going with Borla.
Does anyone have GMMG with a high flow cat? does it sound good and how loud is it?

I am currently using GMMG catback, I've been running with it for almost 2years. I’m running Hooker 2055 headers ceramic-coated, with duel catco cats.
Personally I don’t think its loud, just sounds a lot better.
BTW the GMMG is 3" kit but splits at your axel than to 2.5" duel tips, i went with stainless oval tips.

Hahahaha, the GMMG with a cat will be louder than the Flowmaster without a cat and then some. I did exactly what you're thinking of doing. The no cat/Flowmaster to cat/GMMG swap.
Stock manifolds and Y-pipe, no cat, Flowmaster American Thunder.
Idle 72 dB
70 mph 80 dB
WOT 88 dB
Idle is a cold start inside the garage. 70 mph is in O/D. WOT is measured at 5000 RPM under load. "A" weighted dB scale used. All are done inside the car with the windows closed, radio off, A/C set to OFF.
Stock manifolds and Y-pipe, Catco cat, GMMG with oval tips.
Idle 73 dB
70 mph 78-80 dB
WOT 90 dB
The WOT figure is misleading. Although 2 dB doesn't sound like much, consider that with the GMMG I'm getting 88 dB at 4000 RPM (the same as the Flowmaster at 5000 RPM)
The GMMG has a much deeper sound than the Flowmaster. No drone which is nice too. Just driving at 30 mph home from the exhaust shop, the car sounded completely different. More aggressive and intimidating.
I had Flowmaster American Thunder cat back before the GMMG, just like Reid says. It's hard to explain but i say the GMMG has allot better tone. I get complements on my GMMG, nobody noticed the Flowmaster. I’m sure whatever one you decide on you will like.
I put my GMMG on, it has 3" intermediate pipe.

I was comparing the GMMG to Flowmaster. I’m not sure about Borla, I have only heard Borla on videos. But what i have heard from vids Borla sounds good.
When I was deciding on a catback, it came down to the GMMG and the Borla too. I went with the Borla with an electric cutout in place of the "plate". The GMMG is always quit loud. Which does sound really good. But because I daily drive my Camaro. I was worried it would get annoying. So that's why I went with the Borla. I can open the cutout and have a great/unique sound, or close the cutout and it's nice and quit.

what model borla muffler came with your system? you can get just the muffler but what was the model number on yours?
and did your electric cut out also go to a straight pipe out the passengers side back?
There was a guy at my work that had GMMG on an LS1 camaro, and it sounded nice at idle, but once given any gas it didnt sound good at all. But that is also an LS1, and not a 3rd gen... :/
I have the Edelbrock RPM system (with stock L03 manifolds and Y). I love the sound of it, SOOO much better than the Flowmaster. But then again, just about anything sounds better than the Flowmaster...
You can hear mine in the vid in my sig

His - 91 Camaro RS with L98 (finally), 17'' Silver SLP ZR1s, 3'' highflow Catco cat, 3'' Mandrel bent Edelbrock RPM Catback, MSD Cap and Rotor, MSD Blaster Igntion Coil, K&N Flat Filters, Cut Lower Air Box, Accel 8mm Wires, 26# LS1 Injectors, Custom tuned chip, TDS Wonderbar, Cross Drilled and Slotted Front Rotors with Ceramic Brake Pads
decided on the Borla and it sounds awesome and i love the fact that I have adjustable sound which the GMMG didn't. I'll try and get some sound clips when its up on the dyno
