I just got my first Camaro. its an '82 full stock z28 with the crossfire fuel injectors and i want to get a sweet sounding exhaust since the current one leaks some where. i would like to know if any one has installed one with an X pipe in it and if they would know what i should get and how much it will cost to have it installed. my budget it $2000. any help would be appreciated.

use the search function. 2k is alot on exhaust, should get you in the game though. I spent 600 on headers, 750 on a 4inch cat back from mufflex, an paying sometime 300 to connect the 2.

Re: true dual exhaust system..help please

You can buy a kit which may or may not be easier or just buy the mufflers and have someone fab a system for ya. I bought two flowmaster 40's at $70 each and paid some guy 550 to build a dual exhaust system for me, but if you buy a kit you'll get a lower price on labor but pay more for the system overall

EDIT: You may pay more for the system overall, it depends. If you want a system that goes over the rear axle then it'll cost ya alot more for the bending if it's made in-house. If you buy a kit that is made to do that and the shop only puts it in it's obviously very cheap. Prices? Well you're looking at around 1 to 1.5 grand MAX for the exhaust system done right and done well. Don't let anyone tell you a dual exhaust system costs more than that, unless you include headers in the mix. And if you haven't modified your engine you don't need new hedders (flame shield on).
