Magnaflow intermediates to flowmaster muffler?

Hi guys. Im going to buy the magnaflow catback for my 1992 TBI firebird but if its too quiet I want to know if I can bolt a flowmaster 80 to it. I don't know how to do much on cars so i'd appreciate any help on this matter. Here is the link to flowmaster's site http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/80_series.html
anyone know which one would fit? Thank you

Re: Magnaflow intermediates to flowmaster muffler?

you shouldnt have any complaints about the magnaflow honestly. while it's a lot more tame at idle, when you step on the go pedal it wakes right up. I know on 4th gen cars the flowmaster actually hurts performance. The magnaflow just flows really well.

Well, in the event I don't like it, could I put a flowmaster on in place of the magnaflow muffler and even still use the tips?

i did exactly what your talking about with my edelbrock exhaust and was very pleased. just get whatever sounds best to you. your the one that has to sit in it. in fact i went further and installed headers and an offroad pipe in place of the cat and really dig the way it sounds. i forget the p/n for the 80 series but any 3"in dual 2.5"out will work.

Re: Magnaflow intermediates to flowmaster muffler?

A flowmaster 80 isn't going to be much louder than a Magnaflow, if any at all. I wouldn't waste your money on ANY flowmaster muffler. If the car is not loud enough, work on the upstream exhaust and then go from there.
