I also have this kit but it is uninstalled. Please post your sound clip. Do something like these sound clips.

Re: Magnaflow Part #16829 good sound?

By chance did you guys use the piece highlighted in the attached photo? I've heard the kit comes with this piece, and from my understanding it is only used if you have Magnaflow's 3" flanged cat. If this is true, and you didn't use the piece, any one game for getting a few bucks for it? PM me and give me a price you want for it.

If my info is correct and it's a required piece, or doesn't come with the kit, sorry.

Thanks

Thats exactly what i did to mine. Cut the flange off then expanded it to 3" i.d. so my modified cutout would slip onto that. If you need a pic just ask i know i got one.

Re: Magnaflow Part #16829 good sound?

Does anyone have this system on a 383? I need to quiet down my car so I got my hands on a sweet Magnaflow setup. Just want to know what it will sound like and/or restrict any flow?

Re: Magnaflow Part #16829 good sound?

I just bought this kit with a Magnaflow 93440 catalytic that fits my headers. The cat however has four-bolt ovals on each end, and the 16829 has a two-bolt round. Has anyone ran into this or know of an adapter or something to bolt this all up?

Re: Magnaflow Part #16829 good sound?

The 16829 cat-back kit bolts up to the 93441 cat, the cat is 3" slip on in the front with a 3" ball flange in the back.

Re: Magnaflow Part #16829 good sound?

That's correct but I bought the 93440 not the 93441 becuase it bolts to my Edelbrock headers. A slip front cat would not work with them.

Re: Magnaflow Part #16829 good sound?

I'm pretty sure it should still bolt up to one set of the four holes. Try angling it different?

Re: Magnaflow Part #16829 good sound?

Just today I actually found the adapter I need, it's Edelbrock part number 65911. This bolts correctly to the back of the cat and has the slip 3" needed to connect to the Magnaflow kit.

Thought I'd be hearing the setup this weekend but the adapater is back ordered so maybe next month...

Heres a vid to compare the stock setup to Magnaflow's catback on a stock '91 Z28. And another vid of it on a 385 Formula.

So far it's looking pretty good it took quite a while to get the headers in so I'm just starting to fit up the new piping. The stock mounting works out nicely with this kit so a few bolts and clamps and it should be finished. The 3.5" polished tips look awesome too under the dark blue car.
