Need pipe from muffler to tips

I'm looking to clean up my "pretty straight", but not perfect exhaust tip situation. Muffler is a typical crossflow style with two 2" outs, one on each side. My tips are 2.5".

Can I just get the right length 90* degree pipe, maybe 2.25" diameter, that'll slip OVER the muffler outs, and slip INTO the exhaust tips? ...is it that easy?

I'd like to avoid taking the car to the exhaust shop, just for cosmetics that I can weld.

Re: Need pipe from muffler to tips

I don't think I phrased the question quite right.

Basically I need to figure out what size reducers, couplers etc. etc. I need. I just test fit a 2.25" inner diameter coupler to my tips, now i need to figure out what exact size the muffler "outs" are.

....then figure out what size pipe I need to go between.

I'm sure this is a 30 second procedure if you're standing there in an exhaust shop with all the different pipe sizes and pipe spreader. ...but since I'm trying to weld it up myself in the garage, that pipe needs to be right I can't do too much modifying while in my garage.

Mountain out a mole hill. Yes. ...but I want to weld.
