Magnafow Muffler

Been awhile since I last posted, but I have a question regarding Magnaflow mufflers. I tried to search my question to no avail. Anyways, I went to book an appointment to have my Edlebrook muffler replaced with a Magnaflow 14267 muffler and the dealer stated that I wouldn't be happy with that muffler because it makes "popping" noise on deceleration and he had numerous customer come back and complain.

He recommended a Flowmaster muffler to replace my Edlebrook. Now, he is an authorized dealer for both Magnaflow, Flowmaster and Dynomax so he shouldn't be biased.

Anyone out there had any problems with "popping" or anyother abnormal noise coming from their Magnaflow muffler?

Thanks for the help.

I haven't had any popping at all. Magnaflow mufflers flow very well however they are quiet with a stock set up unless you have your foot in it.

Re: Magnafow Muffler

my magnaflow doesnt pop. its a very smooth mellow tone. I really like it. low mellow sound that lights up nicely at WOT.
I had a flowmaster on my jeep and it popped like crazy.
I beleive the profit margin on a flowmaster is a bit higher

i haven't had any popping. it is quiet though. but once you rev or get on it, it awakes. i have a burnout video on youtube that you can hear the exhaust nicely. search third gen fest 09. the 40 second video.
