Whats the difference between these headers??

Hedman 68470, 68471, and 68481??

I want to a simple true bolt on header and y-pipe setup that will not be a hassle to pass smog in CA.

Re: Whats the difference between these headers??

So I went on the Hedman website and found that only the 68481's are legal for CA...would that be the best setup? what are some comparable to these from other companies?

go look at hooker 2055 - they are carb approved and run into a 3 inch y pipe. probably the most common.
dyno don will sell you a set of his custom ones - he is the man.

I have seen this thing about certain hedders not being legal in CA. Why is this?

California has the strictest laws of all states when it comes to emissions and car modifications. CA law requires that any car part that modifies how the vehicle's engine and emissions operate is certified through the California Air Resource Board. If its not tagged and certified, they will cause the vehicle to fail inspection.

Makes life difficult for all and expensive for some

Back in the 60's CA was the leading state in muscle cars and hotrodding. How things change...
