hedman headers 68460 fitment on t5 manual trans

There is not a lot of info on this out there that I could find. At least not def info. I am doing it right now. First off the passenger side fits perfectly fine, the drivers side on the other hand is a pita. The problem is that the collector hits the slave cylinder mount, the interference is about 3/4in from the end of the collector and interferes by about 1/2in top to bottom. The collector is the only thing that has an issue. the primarys do clear the slave cylinder. I tried to make it work by bending the end down, I tried everything but heat (torch) because I don't have anything capable of heating and bending everything straight. Don't even think about denting the collector it has a ball flange and there would be no way to get a seal. I tried to weld a collector flange on and cut off about 2" of the collector thinking that the reducer coming on earlier might solve the problem but there was still too much interference. My final solution and the one that worked was to weld the reducer onto the collector at an angle that will clear the slave cylinder. This requires a little welding skill because of the thinish metal and filling gaps of about 1/2 of an inch, but that is how I made them work. Also in order to get them in I had to put a board under the oil pan unbolt the drivers side motor mount and lift the engine 4-5in, it's not nearly as bad as it sounds if you have never done it. and I removed the oil filter.

just a few to show clearance of the header, this is before I lower the engine, but it does show the clearance with the slave cylinder because that relationship does not change.

i wish i had pictures of how i did a few sets.they came out real well and i didnt have to do any angling of the pipe just cut the collector off, fabbed up a section with a recess near the slave and welded the collector back on
