WANTED kit for true duals!

why hasnt any manufacturer stepped up with a kit to convert to true duals. i know this is probably illegal just about everywhere, but if i did everything legal id probably be bored as hell... anyway alot of these cars "3rd gens" are used as race cars anyway... i know there are posts with members making duals on here but they all spend like 300$ or more in parts then do the work themselves or have a muffler shop do it then all the labor is a crazy amount of money... i want a kit that i can put on myself that is true dual exiting in the factory tailpipe location that doesnt cost 1000$ is that too much to ask? i have seen in jegs that 2.25" kit from dynomax for 170$, thats more like it, but i want a 2.5" kit.
anyone whos done this and can give me a complete parts list without saying "____ must be fabbed" please post here. i was thinkin of buyin a kit for say a chevelle and just riggin it... i mean whats the major obstacle involved here the transmission cross member and the rear correct?? im not too worried about ground clearance as my car is not gonna get driven on bumpy streets but maybe once or twice a year... i do want it to tuck up fairly nice tho... have a crossover pipe pref an X , and connect to long tube headers... its time the aftermarket steps up and does this dontcha think???

PLEASE USE THE FEATURE!

I've posted a direct link to one several times in the last month & will not post it again, since I know it is already here several times.

Re: WANTED kit for true duals!

Yeah, do a search. One guy bought all the parts and it was pretty simple. I think he did it for under 300 or so, and he lists all the pieces you need with all the prebent tubes.

Re: WANTED kit for true duals!

Aftermarket companies aren't too interested because they aren't smog legal. How many people are going to buy something illegal and have to change it back when smog comes around?

True Duals are badass, but most people are interested in putting a legal exhaust on a stockish V8 for daily driving and such...

lol chill man, yes the search is VERY useful, but most of the time you see people on hear that can fabricate their own ex system. but as for companies that sell them, few to none.

Re: WANTED kit for true duals!

You know, I looked for that thread too, but couldn't find it either. I remember it though, he had all the specific prebent tubes, and clamps, and it had an X-pipe and pictures and EVERYTHING... Huh. Try looking up x pipe or something.

If you can't find it, ill try again later. It was a great thread, and I wouldn't mind checking it out again.

So what make dual exhaust illegal? Because you replace the cat? What if you put two in for each side?

You missed my point...

There IS a true dual pre-made kit already available. Search here or Summit/Jeg's.

BTW...I'm not "supremacy" of anything....I'm REALLY biting my tongue, to have only posted what I did already.

Don't act like I am some kind of bad guy. I just get tired of posting the same stuff over & over & over. BTW, I'm no chick, so "Steph" doesn't exactly work. How many guys do you call Steph?

You found the Dynomax kit I was referring to. That IS a true dual, just not on opposite sides of the car. I never said it was real good, only that it existed. Only that a true due kit existed. Don't get mad at me.

You want an opposite side dual kit? Those exist too. Just keep looking. I've seen them, just didn't keep them in my head, since a 3.5" single flows plenty, until you get well into a high horsepower level, than most street cars will ever see. And 1 muffler, 1 catalytic converter & 1 pipe, is lighter & cheaper.

in wisconsin 3rd gens dont need smog inspection. i can actually completely ditch the catalytic converters if i wanted to. dont even have to have them safety inspected. just pay the registration fees for the plates each year or buy your collector plates. its about hte only benefit i can think of living in this liberal hell hole.

You might get away with doing that at inspection time, but it doesn't make it legal.

Emissions are a FEDERAL LAW, not a state law. That means, states can chose to expand further & complicate their laws even more, but federal laws make up the bare bones minimum that states are SUPPOSED to follow.

Only stress I get on TGO, is from the Newbies unwilling to find answers for themselves by use the "search: feature, that TGO provides. They want to be waited on hand & foot....Have things handed to them.

BTW...No sense in running a true dual anyways. A single large exhaust flows plenty & duals just add weight. Looking to SOUND fast, or BE fast?

If it were a track only car, then you wouldn't be looking for a kit in the first place. You'd do dumps or turn-outs & be done with it.

Re: WANTED kit for true duals!

actually not worried about the sound, reason i dont want dumps or turnouts is for looks... i asked about the 3.5" kit cause i thought it sounded like a good alternative didnt think about the weight in the first place but when you stated it, it made alot of sense... i never asked to be waited on and i was just voicing my opppinion i just didnt understand why you were so emotional about the whole thing, just relax... anyway, i searched for a 3.5 kit and cant find that either, thanks again and hope you have a good day
