Ok so i got a pair of free edelbrock TES headers for my maro today, no collector cracks, and in very good condition... downside? no y pipe. anyone here ever have an exhaust shop make a Y pipe? if so how much did it cost?
Most muffler shops will use crush bends and restrict the flow, as opposed to mandrel bends (expensive machines)... Unless they use mandrel bent tubing and custom make (expensive)... Call Edelbrock and see how much for their y pipe...
i think you can get the y pipe from summit. I don't know what you are running but for my edelbrock tes headers for the 305 350 tpi with single cat i was able to get a replacement y pipe from summit a couple times already. Mine seem to rot ever 2 or 3 years.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-65930/ here is the link. Its for tpi headers from 86 to 90 i believe. Mine have the air tubes and no spot for the heat tube like u find on tbi cars. I think its for the 6872 headers.
dude! you are a lifesaver my friend! i couldnt find that ANYWHERE, thats for my setup, thanks a bunch, and it's cheaper than what the exhaust shop local here wanted too
i would fit it and get it coated if i were you because mine rotted away like 3 years after i got it and had to buy another. But where I live is brutal for rust and rot
