*? Custom A.I.R. plumbed headers?*

Has anyone tried to weld bungs to their headers so the factory A.I.R tubes could screw in? I know it seems a bit tedious and unrewarding, and most of you are going to say "just buy hooker 2055Rs" but the fact is that this would be hundreds cheaper for those of us who can weld & cant spend $500 on headers. Maybe someone could let me know if this rig would pass a visual inspection.

If you were here in Southern California I would recommend Dyno Don. Maybe send your headers to him?

Re: *? Custom A.I.R. plumbed headers?*

LEGALLY, you can't.

The design would hafta to pass the federal C.A.R.B. (or the equivalent for the other states) certification. No certification #? No pass.

Certification costs $$$$$, which is why the $10 worth of tubes triples (or more) the price of the same non-AIR headers.

You could PROBABLY get away with it, but if they caught you, not only would it not pass (if they cared) but you COULD receive a Federal Emissions Tampering fine.

I'm just laying out the worst case scenario for you.
