Different dirrection with new exhaust system

I've got a 92 RS. and well, it's a rally sport. 110 speedometer so sad I know i'm not that fast. I can outpace my friends Nissan Altima, but that's not much to celebrate.

I have ALWAYS hated loud exhaust systems. Sure, if you're racing then it's legit, but when you're doing 25 in a residential and your car is louder then my Bronco pulling 3000 rpms, it kind of makes you look like a tool. (No offense to those with loudies!)

Now i don't know much about cars, like if it being way damn loud means the car is able to get more power. But I'd like to get a new exhaust system for my camaro, that can improve my performance nicely, but not make it REALLY loud. I know it's an RS, 5.0l 305, and I know it's not gonna be that fast. So I'd like something on the quieter side. Im thinking i'll just get something off Hawks, so any opinions on some of those would be nice

This is cool, it you can get about 14% performance increase.

This looks pretty nice

I don't know... I'm lost in all the options!

my 92 305/700r4 car responded pretty nice to the dynomax cat back I put on it at 35k miles. It had a nice mellow sound but the size went up from 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 along with the turbo muffler and dual outlets. Wasn't obnoxious like a flowdisaster either. If you were closer to Pensacola I'd GIVE the thing to you. Can't use it with the LSx stuff I have now and it's sitting in storage collecting spiders!! Thunderbird Falls....why don't you just say Eagle River!! lol

Hehe, you from/been to Alaska? I don't know, don't go to ER except to work. It's like a 20 minute drive (I go pretty slow) I just don't necessarily consider it my home.

But yes! That's exactly what I want! Mellow. But with a little umph so you know it's a Camaro, not a damn prius or something lol.

Is this yours?

DynoMax - Dual - 2.5" system. Super Turbo™ Muffler

Another cool one!

1992-1983
-Camaro w/5.0L (Exc. H.O.) 2.1/2" Connection to Cat. Conv.
-Dual - 2.5" system. Ultra Flo™ Polished Muffler

It looks nice!

Maybe we could possibly arrange some kind of payment? I crashed my camaro a while back. It's stuck in the garage with a flat (on a stock jack) and needs emissions soon. Found a big hole in the muffler examining the car after the crash. Been looking at a new exauhst for a bit, wouldn't mind fixing the whole damn thing at once!

Re: Different dirrection with new exhaust system

the one I have is non-polished. Too bad I can't get it to you. Won't be back stateside until January at the earliest. Till then it sits in storage. It'll never go back on my car. I've got a true dual setup with an x-pipe and spintecs I'll probably get rid of too. Going to try a 4" mufflex system I think. TJ's got one and it's sweet. I want it to dump in the rear instead of underneath the axle. I can listen to my radio then if I wanna!!

Re: Different dirrection with new exhaust system

The Dynomax Super Turbo muffler is the right muffler for you. I have one on my 1992 Cadillac Seville STS with a 4.9 V8. It has 2.5" pipes with the out being 2.25". It gave my car a mellow and really smooth sound. I can easily talk to someone in the car and listen to the radio at the same time.

Sounds great. How's the performance? Will it increase performance over the stock one? I'd love a little more go out of my baby

Re: Different dirrection with new exhaust system

It defintely helped on performance. I gained 2 MPG on my Caddy, but I also hollowed out the cat on the car.

Re: Different dirrection with new exhaust system

The cat is on the car and that's what matters. I did it to my Firebird too.
