Y or N for the magnaflow?

Looking to buy a magnaflow cat-back exhaust system for my 88 IROC TPI. The flowmaster is old and rusted. Still sounds pretty good though. Anyhow, anyone who has one would you reccomend them? Thanks TGO!

Re: Y or N for the magnaflow?

The magnaflow will be a lot more quite than the flowmaster system, Get an electric cutout for the system as well and that will sound very good, and will bring up the sound will idling and at WOT, unless you already have headers already installed then i think the sound of the magnaflow will be a bit louder then for you. Ive read a lot of people have put the system on stock tpi cars and were disappointed because they didnt make a difference over the stock system until they got on the gas really hard, but other than that it sounds like stock system replacement. That why the electric cutout on the magnaflow systems are so popular and really makes the difference.

Re: Y or N for the magnaflow?

I had 3" mandrel catback fabbed up for my bird years ago using a magnaflow muffler and I loved it. It had a nice burble at idle that you could tell it wasn't stock and sounded awesome at WOT. Not deafening like open exhaust or the horrrid flowmaster sound, just meaty.
