Single bed or double bed Converter? Please help

Hi,

Just scratching my head here. I have a 1987 Firebird Formula with a 305 4bbl motor and an automatic transmission. Seems pretty stock. Anyway I am replacing the exhaust from the cat back and the parts store will not sell me the pipe from the converter to the muffler until I can tell him whether it is a double bed cat or a single bed. He has no clue how to figure this out and neither do I... Anyone's input into this would be much appreciated.
