direct fit bolt on headers

Does anyone have some aftermarket headers installed? What Im trying to get at is that I want to use the very same (OEM ) down pipe, but I want to bolt on some aftermarket headers without having to modify the OEM down pipe. I dont have enough to buy a whole exaust system. I'm looking to buy a pair that are cheap, but reliable. I already hit the search tab, but I cant find one that requires no mods. Thanks guyz. The picture below show my OEM D.P.

Upgrading that Y-pipe is about half of the improvement that aftermarket headers provides.

So then Im better off just getting the kit (headers and down pipe combo). Ok. You see my big issue is that I want to get rid of the smog tubes, so I'm deciding on buying headers to up the power. I dont have a cat inline so it just takes up more engine space (smog tubes). Now if I get caught, then I can easily just slap on the old stuff and go back to legal status. i just need a little guidance before I order online. I hate having to send stuff back. It's a P.I.T.A.

Yes.

As far as I know, no after market headers will bolt-up to the OE Y-pipe.

It is better replacing both headers and y pipe, but Summit says some of the Flowtech headers will bolt to factory y pipe.

No link, just what one of the service reps told me. I was asking if any non heddman headers would bolt to the heddman y pipe i have. I have the 3 bolt flange y pipe. I have a pair of headers from a friend, that I think are flowtech. There is no # stamped on them to go by.

Man thats blows. I'm going to draw a picture just like your avatar, then take it to get made into a sticker and slap that bad boy onto the rear glass of my IROC. Or is it to graphic for the young ones?

Re: direct fit bolt on headers

Do the Flowtech headers have any spark plug clearance issues? I just bought and recieved some ebay headers (stainless) that look exact to the flowtechs but they have clearance issues. I dont know what im going to do...
