Although I have been reading information on this site for a couple years this is my first post. I recently purchased Hedman 68470 headers and the 17470 y pipe. Everything I have been reading says that this y pipe requires a gasket, the header flanges do not slide down to meet the y pipe flange. I put the headers on yesterday, fit the y pipe in and snugged it up assuming these a ball & socket style. Has anyone used this combo? Jegs website does say that this y pipe is for these headers. Help please!
if the headers have ball and socket the corresponding y pipe should be 17478 i beleive, i had that problem when i ordered from summit, they had the associated parts link wrong at the time

I think you're right. No details on the 17470 listing, but the 17478 description says ball & socket flange. And, the 68470 description says ball & socket, and if you click on the "all suggested parts" "exhaust pipes/y-pipes" link, it takes you to the 17478.
I ORDERED THE HEADERS FROM JEGS AND IT SHOWS BOTH Y PIPES WORKING WITH THESE HEADERS.???????????????? WELL ANY WAY I HAVE THESE ON MY CAR AND THERE DOESNT APPEAR TO BE ANY LEAKS.
