I have a brand new t-top bar with slight damage. You can see in the pics below that there is a slight ding in the top rail. It was dropped (I assume) on one corner, and the paint got chipped off and the metal is a little wavy (very fixable)... If you need a new t-top bar and want to save some $$$ here you go. $150.00 and free priority mail shipping to the continental U.S. I have paypal, and ship extremely quick, just read my feedback.
It usually starts seeping under the bar itself when the weatherstripping shrinks up. There are 2 little thin square foam pads stuck to the bottom of the bar that just shrink up over time and start to let water seep under the bar and rust your roof panel. The bad news is that you cant do the t-top bar without doing the weatherstripping. Plus the factory paint on the t-top bar sucks. I sanded my new one down and used a better paint on it, and used 8 coates instead of the cheap "one coat". I didnt re-use the little foam pads, instead, I used beads of the 3M super weatherstrip adhesive to insure water never gets under the bar again.
Yes and no, im trying desperatly to fix my leaks(yes more than one ) and I feel I might need this part ( how do you tell if one isnt good anymore? So if it turns out I need it then ill take it....hey at least you dont have to ask for my address..hehhe
