1985 Camaro Birlinetta

Hi everyone. As the title says im parting out a 1985 Camaro Birlinetta. As many of you might know this is one of the rare all digital camaros. Currently i still have most of the body. 1 fender in decent shape the other is ok but could use some body work. The doors are ok have all the power options (power windows power locks power mirrors). The rear fenders can be removed as there in pretty good shape. The rear bumper cover is unscathed just some spider webbing in the paint. Also willing to chop the top of for a T-Top convetion if someone wants it. Otherwise the T-tops by themselves are for sale too (there the older real glass style). Again being that this car is going any body parts floor pans frame parts can be sold off just let me know what you need. Its a 2.8 auto t-tops car with a gray interior. Either post in this thread or PM me with any requests. Unfortunately this car will be getting scrapped soon with the winter coming up fast and not enough space in the driveway to get my other cars off the street. Will consider trades for TPI stuff and also a rebuild able v8 700r4 (will be rebuilt so dosnt need to be in good shape just not grenaded lol).

The center console is a Birlinetta specific part and being that I don't see one in your sig I thought ide let you know that in case you don't have one and thought it would be common to all 82-92s. The upper half is hammered the old owner cut a hole in it for an aftermarket radio and broke the plastic around the shifter somehow. The lower half is in good shape as i recall and I believe that is interchangeable between 82-92 Camaros and if your interested in just that half i can do that. If interested i can get pictures.

Yes, I know that it is berlinetta specific. I part these cars out to make a few bucks, just kinda hard to come by a berlinetta center console. Ide be more interested in it if it was complete and in decent shape. Thanks for the response!

Re: 1985 Camaro Birlinetta

No problem i know i ran into the same thing trying to find a decent replacement for it. Unfortunetly the old owner destroyed the top not only cutting a hole in it for a rado but breaking the plastic around the shifter and i couldnt fix it or find a replacement for it. Its too bad because a lot of the rest of the car is in great shape especially for being a car from the North east. Floor pans for example when I got the car were pretty decent and I too the time to take care of any rust and undercote the floor pans and now im cutting parts of them out to replace on my other f-bodies because they've really kept that well. The dash pods for the digital stuff I have a receipt from the old owner who had the contacts replaced which its rare to even find these parts but then to have one thats had the contacts replaced on top of it. Its really a shame because this car is going soon and its taking a lot of great parts with it but it doesn't seem that there's much desire for parts for these cars beyond hot items like TPI intakes and wonderbars and with the winter coming i don't have the space to keep it unfortuntely.

yea i still have the motor actually i pulled it out just today. I actually rebuilt the motor lots of new parts and had the car really ready to run just had to hook up the hoses and wires until it got filled with water while I was in college. When I had the crank out I measured the journals with a digital caliper and the were within spec turned out it was a connecting rod that was at fault for the knocking. Fortunately for the cranks sake instead of what most people do driving it till it seizes the day it started knocking I stopped driving again because I had every intention of fixing it. I havnt seen if it was damaged by water but seeing as how the bottom end was assembled with a realitivly thick assembly grease and new bearing I doubt even if the oil pan was filled with water that the bearing surfaces were touched. Thing is I bet shipping on a crank would be pretty hefty. Not really sure how much ide need your zip to get a good estimate but it is a fairly heavy piece. At that rate you might be better off having yours re-ground or getting a remmaned unit from your local auto parts store there not too expensive i don't believe. Something worth looking into anyways. Although if you do decide you want it want it ide be more than happy to pull the crank and sell that part to you before everything gets scrapped.
