Gonna be picking up a set of Doug's L/Ts this winter and want to know what im in for. part #D3321.
How tough is the installation while the engine is in my GTA, will it clear everything? (bone stock). Will my local muffler shop be able to fab a 3 inch ypipe. And most of all will I still have ample ground clearance? Or will hooker 2460s shorties provide the same "gains".

Pics would be great of these L/Ts or Hookers.

Thanks Guys !!

I had this done back in 1993. Its custom for my 1 3/4" SLP headers. It uses 2 1/2" tubing and has high flow cats to dual flowmaster mufflers. It run in the stock location and ride at the same height as stock. It can be done by a good exhaust shop. This system is 100% legal and pass emissions with flyin colors. I did have any modification to rear panhand bars to make it fit either. Its a tight squeeze but can be done. Also I have Spohn sub frame connectors with no problems. Attachment 188879

Hello everybody,

as I will use my car on the race track only in the future I would like to exchange the cats (not even high flow...so should free some HP) with some round mufflers. I need to get a similar noise reduction because the race tracks over here a very strict about that.

Do you have any suggestions? Dynomax Bullet seems to be too loud...

It is a true dual 2.5" on the stock routing...all stainless. Engine specs in signature.

Okay guys, bought a car that a guy was making a dragracer pretty much. Has a 355, SLP headers, 3 inch pipe going to each side with small flowmaster mufflers. It is inspected til march, I suspect it was inspected before the guy did any of these mods. What do I need to do to make it pass inspection? Its an 83. The Edelbrock intake does not have an EGR valve. No Evap canister anymore either. Thoughts? If I strip all that stuff out to put in closer to stock parts, are they worth anything to be sold? If not, what have you all done? Thanks for the input guys, still reading tons of stuff on the forum.

Not sure if I should post here or classifieds, but figured I would get a bit more views here.

I'll try to keep it short. I'm trying to help a friend start up a machine shop, so I got him started making accessory bracket studs.

So, if anyone is interested they are availible in stainless or plain steel. Stainless would just need to be hit with a buffing wheel and some compound to polish it up.
Prices are:
Stainless- $30 (shipped)
Plain - $ 25 (shipped)

If anyone is interested, you can shoot an email to: awackel@neb.rr.com and he can get you hooked up.

Hi,

Just scratching my head here. I have a 1987 Firebird Formula with a 305 4bbl motor and an automatic transmission. Seems pretty stock. Anyway I am replacing the exhaust from the cat back and the parts store will not sell me the pipe from the converter to the muffler until I can tell him whether it is a double bed cat or a single bed. He has no clue how to figure this out and neither do I... Anyone's input into this would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
My car is a plain jane LO3 firebird, i have a dynomax cat back system and a y pipe off of a tpi car, the tpi wont bolt up, but the tbi pipe will. Do I also need the manifolds off of the car?, they are available too. I always thought the 305 manifolds were the same, this 91 bird has the same EXACT manifolds as my 85 TPI IROC had. Am I missing something here? Any help is appreciated.
