this is my first camaro but i always have loved these third gen bodies. i have been a mustang guy for just about a year now(i know some of you hate me already) but i was looking for one of these camaros when i got my 96 mustang last year. i have done some stuff to it and enjoy modding and can't wait to start working on my camaro. on the mustang i put on the exhaust myself, cold air intake, reverse glow gauges, and me and my stepdad painted it and tinted the tail lights. still needs some wet sanding and buffing.

i can't wait to get some stuff done to the camaro. we went and got a rear bumper cover and a door but i cant decide if i want the rounded iroc ground skirting or the straighter z28 style. what do ya'll think. i see more iroc than z28 so i am leaning toward the z28 skirts. the motor knocks and was in the middle of being removed at the scrap yard when we picked it up. we paid .08$ per pound for it. we have a v8 motor that we are getting pulled out of a vehicle at the same scrap yard so it will not keep the 6er. thinking all black or solid white with dark windows and maybe some light tinting on the tails and headlights. my stepdad is a paint and body guy so i am not worried about the outside, it will be taken care of in time. the inside is in really good shape. no fading or ripping except for the elbow rest and the headliner which are easy fixes.

This one has original black interior, 5 speed, and only 135,000 miles on it! It does need a tune up, and small body repair from the previous owner's brother running into a parking post while trying to park :gocrazy:

Here are the pics, it doesn't have the original Z28 wheels but the 88-90 irocs are close enough lol. I will be getting new wheels anyway so it doesn't matter....and yes it's dirty inside and out.

Some info on the car. The car was brought into the family in 07. Dad owned it for the first year and took very good care of it as soon as i saw it being parked in the driveway i just fell in love with it. Nothing out there beat the style of it in my eyes. Well when i asked for information on it from my dad he said its a 92 Camaro that supposably had a L05 Swap (350) from a 92 Suburban. In mid 08 the car was handed over to me when my dad lost his keys and replaced the key ignition cylinder lock and ran into VATS problems, He was about to junk the car and i stepped in and bet him i can fix it and in under 30 minutes (Thank god i got the right Code in under each 5 min lockout period! :lmao:) and he handed over the keys. The car stayed in the garage until May 20's of this year and yea it rusted a bit. Its been my daily driver ever since.

Car Info:

The car seems to have a replacement front bumper and i hope it was just a replacement from either the old one being banged up but im probably positive that the car was in a small front end crash and had it replaced. Its a satin black front end and not painted or looks from a donor car. It had the wing installed as well and the 2 inserts are not holed in and secured! You will see in the rear end picture. I will take some more shots soon since the pictures i have now are oldies or make the car look half decent.

As far as the engine goes of the supposed swap. I can see it looks like an ordinary 305 TBI from what i see and what i say it has since i never took the time to check if it is. Only thing i see the car has been modded with is a better Intake (See the Engine pic, from what i have seen in other TBI's its more of a flatter base while this Intake is a bit taller and makes the Air Cleaner Snorkle almost hit the hood insulation, I can always be wrong and feel free to correct me). Edelbrock Headers or atleast the passenger side since it has a EB Stamp on there and none on the driver side. I guess you can say custom exhaust, meaning when my dad had the car he took it for new exhaust and he said they made a Y pipe there for the car and new everything else. I wish i knew what type it is. I crawled under the car to see if theres any stamps on there and nothing visible, I do love the sound very silent while doing normal driving and decently loud when you step on it which is the way i like it due to how much of douchebags the cops are here. Anyways that is pretty much it thats worth mentioning everything else is small (TBI Injectors, Better Air cleaner setup, etc).

Well that aside, i have one more question or things i would like some info on and its very well known. Rust! What are some rust spots to look at and see if its alright shape? As far as i can tell theres rust on the rear fender near the wheels which im sure is common. The insides looked well from what i can see under the carpet in the trunk. A few other spots i see is around the door handles, Under the doors themselfs. Under the t-top weatherstripping and that worries me since it leaks and im sure the floor panels are prob rusting badly but i will check that this weekend. Another thing that looks kinda funky and makes me wonder is that theres a few spots on the car where it looks like the if you poked a screw driver from under the body and seems like its popping up and theres rust under there. Could it be from a bad paint job? Or just Rust doing its thing from t-tops leaks? Its on the sides of the Windshield.

What are some spots i should check out that are common for rust to be on our third gens?

Here are some pictures of the car when it was in ''Storage'' and being used as a beer table and some of it now (2 months old but nothing changed) being used as my daily driver.

As for my plans for the car, I would love to get the car painted up in my favorite color... Black! with some red rs stripes and a 2 inch cowl hood. Hopefully soon.

I have this 84 Camaro that i got for my 17 birthday from my father. When i got the car it was a wreck to me. Some parts of the camaro had shiny paint and other parts it had faited or cracked paint. When i got a job i was able to get my camaro new tires and a so so paint job. Over time i started doing some things to it to improve my camaro looks. Recently i have all my windows tinted and i think it looks okay.
What do you guys think?
Also i am planning of finishing my car of completely entering next year 2010
And the VW Bug in the shot next to my camaro is a project i am also working on.

After talking a little about some details in here, I finally had the time to get my Camaro and started to work and I wanted to share it with you guys. Maybe I get some more infos and tricks this way.

First of all to me. Im Chris, I moved from Europe (Germany) to the caribbean to Puerto Rico and after working on (I dont even remember how many) Turbo Cars in Europe I finally wanted to try a V8.

I always loved Ford and Mustangs but the Camaro in the 80's looks much more aggressive and thats what I like.

So after looking around and checking a few Camaros on the island I finally found the perfect one. From guys that used to build nice V8 cars also for drag racing and knew what they do, no crappy work.

Well, what I got is a car without color but nice stuff below the metal. A new 350 Engine with racing transmission, headers, sub frame connectors, better ignition control, all kind of instuments and a brandnew chip worth $500 made for this engine plus brandnew bigger fuel injectors for using with the chip.

I drove the other Camaros before too, but after I rolled to the street with this one and pushing down the gas pedal..... I was smiling for 5 hours and I decided thats the one. At the end I got it for only 1500 bucks..

Well what Im planning to do with it?

First of all I started to take out EVERYTHING inside. I dont like carpets and any other useless weight. I am going to paint the inside floor and parts in silver like I did it on other projects before for example here:

Its going to be all racing style and trying to save weight and make it more save in case something ever happens (hope not). So I will buy a cage and other stuff.

The most important changes I am planning to do are 1. Twin Turbo Kit with Garrett T3 Turbos ( those are my fav. Turbos) and a 6 speed standard (T56) out of a Z28 or SS 94-97. I really dont like automatic at ALL. Sorry guys but for me thats just gay.

I also have some plans for the design of the body. What I want to do is this:
