I recently purchased a set of injectors from South Bay Fuel Injectors. I have heard many opinions on the Bosch III injectors with the spacer installed on them. I can tell you from experience that these injectors are top notch. The fitment of these injectors are perfect. The new spacer does not leak and the throttle response with the new injectors is incredibly better than stock. The injectors were about 160.00 bucks. A great deal if you compare them with the price of the new ones. These injectors have a three year unlimited mile warranty. If you were to get a bad injector I am sure that something would go wrong within the time of warranty.
If you are concerned about the spacer to make the Bosch injectors for into the TPI fuel rail and intake; don't be. The spacer can in no way affect the performance of the injector. I have heard comments that spacer may retain heat. That is not possible due to the fact that, the coil inside the injector is not located in the same area as the metal spacer.
Also the spacer does not affect the flow pattern because, it does not interfere with the direction of spray.

I hope that this clears up any issues that anyone has with the whole injector dilemma. I am not saying that these injectors are as good as new. But, I am saying that i found them to be a great product at an affordable price. :thanks:

for some reason my tpi swapped el camino started givin me a problem recently. After I finally got around to pulling my trans and putting back in after putting on a gasket and a good VSS so I can have tcc. I took it for a ride and it was fine, but timing was off. I adjusted the timing and then it started stalling on rite turns and throwing a code 42. I know this code is spark fault. I set the timing at 6* which I had it on before the trans fix and it ran beautifly. does anybody have an Idea on what this is cause im SO stumped?

I purchased a billet IAC housing from TPIS, a 90* heater hose fitting from performance stainless (intake) and a 45* heater hose fitting (water pump) from A-Line auto parts. I just finally got around to taking pics...As you can see the fittings must be installed during during assembly as the fuel lines will be in the way.

Long story shortI originally owned this car a couple years ago and dd without any issues. Sold it to a friend who stripped it for paint and then let it sit in his garage. Then I bought it back from him. Total time it sat was about a year with a few drives here and there in it. I bought it back, swapped in a t56 and doug's longtubes. Before I started the install I made sure to start and let it idle for a bit to make sure everything was ok. I didn't notice any abnormally high oil pressure then. Upon installing the headers I pulled the oil cooler off and put on another new k&n oil filter (only kind I use).

After getting everything installed I started the car and noticed that it now has almost 60psi of pressure (even when warm) at idle. And will almost peg the stock gauge with a quick rev. Engine to my knowledge is stock with almost 160k miles on it. I was told it was rebuilt but no proof.

Oil is 5qts of Mobil 1 10w30 and whatever the reccomended k&n filter is. The same combo I put nearly 30-40k miles on the car with without incident.

Any ideas?

Whats up? I've had my GTA for about 3 weeks already since its been in the shop from getting a re-rebuild. Anyway, I developed a wierd intermittent stall issue where it just dies and won't start until about 5-10+ minutes of sitting. This has happened to me 3 times already: The first time I was with a buddy of mine and made a sharp right turn while giving it mid throttle (WS6 suspension handles good ) when it flat out died in the middle of the street. I cranked and cranked it but it wouldn't fire up. We both pushed it around the corner into a parking lot while we called to get some help from a friend to push it back to my friend's house which we did. It sat for about 10-20 min. cranked it and it fired right up. Later that night, we went for a ride again and I decided to punch it pulling hard as hell until it flatlined once again. The car was still moving to where I parked it in a not-so nearby neighborbhood. My friend forgot his cell phone this time :idiot: so we had to walk back to his house which took about 15 min. We got ahold of his neighbor once again to help us push it back with his truck but I wanted to see if it would start first. A few cranks and it started up and drove it back. Since then, I cleaned and adjusted the IAC Valve (not the passages). I thought this helped out since it was running smoothly until yesterday when I was with another buddy of mine who dared me to punch it. I did and again it pulled nicely. All was well until we we're leaving the mall backing out of the parking spot when it just stalled again. I cranked and cranked this time but nothing. I waited 5 min. before I cranked it again and nothing. Finally after about 10-15 min. I cranked it and it started right up. Its been running good since then. I guess this just happens when I give it semi to WOT. I've looked at other threads but none relate to my issue. I guess I should also point these important details: my EGR valve is not hooked up at all and just noticed last week that I have no EGR valve solenoid, A.I.R. tubes are possibly not hooked up properly either since one check valve is missing (been like that since I bought it), TPS appears to be 'skipping' when adjusted properly with a VM, and lastly, hot or cold when I crank the car it will fire up but won't stay on unless I give it some gas for about 15 sec. then it will idle on its own. Occasionaly it will idle really low in "D" and die out but it happens rarely. Anyone got a clue of the cause of my wierd problem???? Thanks alot guys for any input.

Later,

Hi guys, I just put my Iroc away for the winter and am planning to do an engine rebuild in the spring. The car is my daily driver in the spring – fall months and will rarely ever see the track. I plan on keeping my displacement 350 or possibly bore it out to a 355 with all new internals. I think I have narrowed my heads down to either AFR 180s or Trick flow 23s. I also have AS&M Long Tube runners and an Edelbrock high-flo base. I think I will end up keeping this intake since it is a street car and will keep the fun factor with all the torque (plus it was pretty expensive). My question is the cam. I think I am aiming towards comp cams XR276HR or possibly one up XR282HR.
XR276HR - @.05 in. 224 ex. 230 110 LSA
XR282HR - @.05 in. 230 ex. 236 110 LSA

Would these cams be too much for a LTR intake or are there any better options? I am looking for a cam with a noticeable choppy idle and obviously good power to match the heads and intake. I also plan on getting a higher stall converter and keeping my stock 3.23 gears. Let me know what you think. My goal is over 300rwhp with this set-up with the right tune. :thanks:

Ok. So I just bought a 89 Formula, and am in the process of tearing it down and building it back up. When I tore out the interior, I noticed that the previous owner had done the cut above the fuel pump technique. This was not new to me, what was new was this.

As you can see those lines have been caped with a rubber hose. My question is what are these lines for, and why would someone do that? I am going to switch the car to carb, so maybe this will be beneficial?
Heres what the fuel lines look like in the engine bay.
