There have been talk about a get together for 3rd gen people in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. I talked to the person I know that runs Cruises and Car Shows here in the Aurora, northern Illinois area and he said he could set up a meet next year. But, he said it was better to set the meet up as a Camaro-Firebird ( All years), and have a swap meet with it to get more cars. There is a Best Western hotel between Plano & Sandwich, Illinois on Hyw. 34 with a hugh back parking lot that will hold around 350-400 cars easy. Some people that wanted to could drive down the day before & stay overnight and attend the show. I would like to know if people are interested in this. Maybe set up for June or July next year. The name of the Organization that runs the meets is Carousel Sound Co. Web Page. http://www.carouselsound.com . He does meets all summer long.
Let me know what you think & if interested. Can e-mail me at Cfionnla44@comcast.net.
Later. Maybe we can get something going. Later.

For the few of you that know me, my bad legs are slowly killing my military career and I have gone back to OTR truck driving in the civilian world. I feel that there is too many problems with shipping small parts across country and that I maybe able to help. I am willing to move your parts for FREE assuming you can meet me somewhere on my route. Yeah, read that again, move parts across country for FREE, no money, nothing, nada, spend it on beer, gas, and other much needed things. I'm doing this as a way of paying back the third gen community for the years of help and to help keep our hobby alive.

I used to do this back a few years ago for turbosaturns.net (which is gone now), saturnfans.com, and have thrown the offer out to the fiero community, which I have only helped 2 people. One member of the thirdgen.org community that can be contacted for reference is paulisgod, I delivered parts to him for free when we both were in Saturns.

Now for the hard part, my rules, that are in no way bendable, and no, I won't do it just one time.
1. Nothing illegal, no drugs, alcohol, or firearms. No.
2. Nothing across our (USA) borders. While I can cross country borders, it is a hassle and I do my best to avoid it and rarely do I get a load that goes over the border.
3. No super big or heavy parts, engines, transmissions, big body parts, or whole cars. Available space is about 6-8 feet long, 6 feet wide, and 4 sometimes 5 feet high. Object has to be able to be carried by hand.
4. Shipper must put it on the truck and customer must take it off. I shouldn't have to put my hands on it for any reason.
5. Object must be able to take whatever the outside temperature is because rarely do I get a reefer. Part can be put on shelf or closet inside cab. I am using the outside toolbox as a compartment for the generator and it is so snug, a TPI plenum barely fits. Something small can go there and yes, I do lock it. The generator cost me $9000!
6. I need phone numbers of both parties to contact them and give them a heads up on time of arrival. I only stop at truck stops and weigh stations, very rarely, anywhere else.
7. If there is a problem with getting the wrong parts or what not, I will only deliver it back when I am planning on heading back. You get what you pay for, and I'm not UPS.
8. I can take you with me if the load doesn't need to get anywhere quickly. Otherwise my partner would come with me for the trip. That doesn't mean if you come with, you bring your whole house with you, just what you need for 2-4 days. If you don't like Disturbed, Metallica, Journey, Van Halen, Creed, or DMX, stay home, you will hate riding with me. Also you will have to hear the CB radio alot.
9. I can give approximate time of when I will be at my destination but because of weigh stations, highway patrol, and road closings, it may take longer than expected, but I will not be blamed or held accountable for parts running late.
10. I will watch my PM's for messages and keep people informed of my route, but at times pickups do change. I reserve the right to refuse any load even if it falls within my rules, because of possible changes or time restraints.

Now if this is something that seems like a good idea, and someone is interested, PM me. You opinions should be left on this post. I live in Elk Grove Village, IL and truck lot is in Des Plaines. I also make stops in Rockford, Addison, Seneca, and Des Moines before heading out. Pm me with what you need and I'll do my best. I am taking a break for the rest of the week but it looks like I have to go to Millegeville, Georgia next week, drop, pickup, and go to Galax, Virginia, and come back to Chicago. That is what is coming up ahead.

so i wasnt really sure where to put this, so i figured that this would be the best place.
So bascially i just wanted to introduce myself after lurking for a long time, as i am about to embark of making my third gen more kick ***.
I am Dan, im 19 and im from the chicago suburbs. i drive a 1991 RS, with the 305 and 5spd. all stock..... for now. right now i am living in Daytona Beach, and attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and im studying to be a pilot right now, but next semester i am switiching to aircraft maintenance. i have worked in an auto shop for eight months doing oil changes and tires. so i am pretty good around cars. thats about it for now.
right now what im thinking of doing to my car is as following:
LS1/ six speed swap
four wheel disc
posi
and some, more, im in english class right now, so im half paying attention right now.
the things i am going to do soon involve IROC rims and new tires, and a full Alpine sound system.
so hello all, and i am excited to leech off of all of your knowledge. :D

Well bought a 91 Camaro V6/5 Speed car. Been sitting for awhile, was going to be a cash for clunkers car but they guy never insured it, so Im picking it up tomorrow for a couple hundred. Drivers front is smashed from a wreck but looks cosmetic. Whole car needs a repaint and new weatherstripping. Unsure weather Im just going to buy the car, paint it, and keep the V6 or swap a V8 in there. Am going to fix this up for a daily driver since my LT1 Camaro is leaning more from street car into the race car area. I took a pic with my phone so if someone can text me at 309-678-9949 i can send a pic for them to post.

As far as those who dont know me, I had a 89 RS that I swapped a carbed 355/Th350 into. I founded the Central Illinois F-Body car club and was president until I resigned after I sold my 89. (Not really sure if the club is still around??) I lived in Peoria at the time but now in the NW Chicago suburbs. I still have my GTO and the 94 z/28 mentioned above.

Anyways...Im back and Im sure this wreck is going to spiral out of control

hay guys i am thanking of parting out my 1988 gta trans am ..the only thing i plan to keep is the motor and the rims and tires unless i was offered a trade for some nice camaro rims .. reason for this ..because of my stupidity left the keys in my car and it was stole .. police found it in a chop shop haft striped and the vin tags are no longer there and i have no ideal where the title got off to .. so i got to part it out and looks like scrap a good shell ..unless someone wanted it for parts and parts only.since there is not title and no way of getting another one for it with out a vin.. all i can say is thank got i am good friends with the cops and they all new my car and it helps its the only one around in my town..
so what i need to know is how much parts sale for for this car as i really want to just get a camaro ether z28 or i roc with ttops and got to be a 5 speed.. the gta is all in good shape sep a dent in the pass fender looks like it would be an easy fix and the front cover is tore at the bottom .. the rear end gears have been change at this time i don't remember what they are but you can tale at take off and the long run there not og ..and the trans is brand new 700r4 auto with a shift kit from hell and set up for a corvette .. the interior is an 8 1/2.. reason i say that is the driver seat has a small tear and the head liner is gone and there might be some cracks in a couple peaces of the plastic not for sure have not really looks out of 10 the glass is all good.. i have put the car back together but since i cant get a title for it again its got to go so i can get a camaro .. but it does start and run at this time .. plz take a look at the picks and tell me what you guys thank

Hello,
I recently bought an 87 trans am and it's mighty fine, but don't know the particulars on it. I need to know what it has in it as far as exaust flow, suspension specs, aluminum wheel issues, head specs and just all around details so I can make it the way I need to have it. It has good power for a 305 as compared to an 86 camaro I had about 14 yrs ago. I'd like to take it to someone who knows 87's inside and out. Can someone tell me where I can find a reasonable price place to take it to in my area? I live about twenty miles south of Big Rapids MI. Thanks, 11th brigade Americal Div. 1968

just purchased a 1989 firebird formula 5.0 tpi, automatic. Car has not been driven very much to not all the past 2 years by the previous owner, seems to run a a little rough, i know it needs a tune up, plugs and wires and injection cleaning, but the passenger side plugs look to be almost impossible to change (the back 2) any suggestions or tricks out there? also the automatic 700r4 trans seems to be too tall of a gear and the previous owner told me that you needed to put car in 2nd and manaully shift it, this helps but still seems odd to me. anu suggestions also about the tpi system, as to if its junk or just needs to be cleaned out regularly, thanks to any help you can give me out there,,,,,,,,steve
