welcome to the boards.
if you do a search for "sfc" or sfc's" you will get plenty of pics and advice.

they bolt in the back and actually use the bolts that hold the trailing arms in. then they run up the sides of the car, flush with the body and depending on the brand they either weld to the floor right before the wheel well or weld to the tiny piece of frame there is under the car.

yes do a search for it. there is a picture of an fbody laying on its side and you can see the frames and the whole bottom of the car. best underbody picture ive ever seen

I'm trying to get my hands on one of my dad's pals rotisserie so I can do the underside of my car while it's all torn apart. Too bad you can't do the SFC's while it's on one.

Forget the Alstons in this pic for now... I made mine like shown..
minus the alstons.. I used a torch.. (much easier than cut bend weld) .. driver side.. its easy.. 1 straight piece.. pass side needs a little tweak.. you'll see when you get under the car.. I used a coat hanger to get the angle.. then measured where to put the bend.. then heated up the metal and slowly bent it. 1 bend was perfect .. the other I kinked it in a little and i put a small patch on it for structural support.. bend looks like this in essence

-----------
\ ________

I used 2"x1" tubing 1/8" thick (more than adequate.. ) PS use a mig. the 2x1 fits just right.
