Re: Doing away with flip up headlights

I'm assuming this modd is for your 1987 Pontiac Trans.

This is one of the local club member (CentralFloridaFieros.net) Fiero. Those headlight are Mazda Rx7 '93 - '97 JDMs. He had to clip them a bit around the base. The lighting was so so... They fell apart after a while. He didn't secure them properly.

Here is the ebay link...

Here's what I want to try.
I'm using after market NSX headlight (GT-One) on my Fiero. Requires to modd the hood and bumper.

__

On my 2nd Fiero I'm going to do frozen pop up (remove all the mechanical components, less moving parts to break and less weight is better ) but still want to keep the stock look so I did some photo chops to have an idea with low profile JDM HL w/ angel eyes. I twisted the pop up covers to create that mean look and match the 75mm & 90mm HL.

Here is another HL test even lower profile. I'm using a Camaro '93 or '92 Geo Storm HL for the low beam and a after market oval (blue) HL (Wal-Mart) for the high beam.

You also may want to look into the Fiat Coupe HL

.

I disagree. Been there, done that. Proven, tested, and busted. Literally. I was racing a guy in a Camaro one late night with my Firebird and we were pretty much even (within a foot or two and same speed)... until I shut off my headlights. Thats when I left him behind, at a pretty good rate I might add. I dunno what the effects might be at 75 but I can tell you exactly what they are at 125 and somewhere I have the radar clocked proof

The only way I ever thought you could get rid of the popups is to use the recess area where the turn signal is... and maybe part of the bumper below that down to where the bumper curves. Then at least you could get some height. Thought about buying some of the I believe now unavailable GTS 'headlight' covers for TA's and going from there.

Better assumption would be he saw the cop and let off at a pretty good rate

You do realize...The post you are asking about is 10 months old.....

I've never seen a 'bird kit. All I've ever seen are home-made kits.

I have never had any problems with my setup in terms of tickets. With the bulbs I put in they are brighter then stock.

Old pic with the orig H3 bulbs

Re: Doing away with flip up headlights

Holy cow, I havent been here in ages. Image my surprise to see this post has been dug up! Yeah my car is just sitting. Decided it was too far f'd up by the P.O.s to make a cool custom street car out of. If it ends up as anything it'll either be a parts car or a drag car.
