i recently eliminated my hide aways and i need more light. ive been trying to find a headlight that fits my fog lights for my 86 firebird. the guy at autozone said im screwed but im hoping that i can find something to fit it. im thinking the early 4th gen camaro lights seem to have the right demensions but id like to get a little more insight or point of view. before i make a push bar and go for the rally look or sun driving down the road ... not entirely what im going for but its a possibility
The 93-97 Camaro headlights are the same as the early 90s Grand Prix headlights, and they are about 2 1/4" tall. I don't recall the width. Putting them in the fog light position places them very low, most likely at too low of a height to be legal.

I concur with Jeremoy, but it has been done many times on this site. Just do a search. I think they cut out the black housing (where the silver letters say "Pontiac") and just install them there... good luck.
Mods so far: MSD Cap and rotor, MSD ignition coil, Accel 8.8mm ignition wires, Hooker Super Comp Shortie Headers, Flowmaster 3in catback, underdrive crank pulley, custom cold air intake, NOS wet 125 shot, air foil and a lead foot! no E/T's yet. ...TURBO COMING SOON...Other mods include keyless entry and remote start, and Sequential Turn Signals.
thats what i have done and they dont put out enough light at all and im hoping that i can put headlights down there rather than make a fiberglass headlight assembly and go crazy
ok so im upgrading my lights to silverstar 55w h3's and the others to 100w h3's. i have also found a set of navigator auxiliary driving lights(# nv-100z for white and nv-104 i believe for yellow) that fit perfectly into the stock foglight assembly with no fabrication involved
there is a huge problem with the fog light location for driving lights. Headlights need to point slightly downward in order to not blind oncoming traffic. If the driving lights are that low to the ground (your fog lights are probably no more than 10 inches off the ground), it's difficult to imagine pointing them slightly downwards and actually lighting up any of the road ahead of you. The legality is only a secondary issue to the safety issue.
