HID's are more or less useless without projectors. They put out more light, but it isn't focused, so you lose a good portion of it and just piss off other drivers.
So unless you're gonna look into a projector type lamp that fits your car, maybe from a Silverado or something, then you're not even close to starting in the right place.

cali you have to remember back in the old setup the lows and highs were on when the high beam was on so you could see more... and when i get my other housine ( mother threw it away on accident ) i will show you what all four headlights look like on low and high... maybe to change your mind
but yea i can understand that the hid lights with normal housing kinda scatter... but it works for me.... but has anyone ever make it so the shield is on top and not on bottom?

Plus wiring them into your brights isn't the smartest idea either. HID's life is significantly decreased by being switched on and off rapidly. That's why when they add HID's to cars that have the night time sensor, they disable it.
ive seen the price of the bulbs and ignitors for cadillacs and how short there lifespan is. that has made me want to stay far away from the whole idea.....

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about and having the shield block the top half instead of the bottom half of the projector, then regardless of how many lights are on, you'd get pulled over mighty quick like Cali said. Projectors are set up optically so that by placing the shield on the lower half (contradictory) actually cuts out the top half of the light beam. If you were to block the top half instead, you'd be driving around with light only ABOVE your cutoff line, which would be like driving around with ultimate high beams - very illegal.

awww ok and don't know there is a stang here that has all four headlights on low beam don't know about high...
and if a cop pulls me over i can just switch to high beam no problem... but i don't think cops around here care about that too much plus i had mine on high beam on accident and drove by cops they didn't do anything...

yeah that is true. The problem may just be the projectors that you used The FX-35 also (tsx is another good one)projectors give out a great light spread pattern. I am going to use those when I do my one piece headlight conversion. Then you have no worries with the cops. also as long as they are relatively level when built easier to adjust. a shroud is pretty much a must which makes the plexi lenses a good idea so they can be sealed.

not true! i got pulled over for having a headlight out (low beam only on passenger side) the cop pulls me over and says... your headlight is out, i said no it isnt SIR! he walked to the front of the car (but what i did was click my hi beams on before i shut the car off) i hit the headlight switch and popped up the headlights and BOTH were lit! hahaha cop walked around with a puzzeled look on his face and told me to have a good night. lol tards.
i did that 5 times, couple of town cops (not just my town) and a NJ state trooper lol. i have a firebird btw
also about the HIDs...i found a kit on ebay of course! its a projector housing for my 7x6s... and comes with the bulbs and HID harness etc and 8000k bulbs (i kno alittle too blue) but at 70$ for the set im seriously considering them. Prob is that i have H4 conversion headlights with 100w/90w H4 bulbs and i keep blowing bulbs every couple of months. at 16$ a pop and having to tear the headlight apart to change them im thinking im just gona do the cheape HIDs. i have too much HP to be driving around and not being able to see lol
Those ebay projectors will work fine as long as you can physically fit the HID bulb in them, and the projectors have a cut-off shield installed. I've seen a few projectors that didn't come with cut-off shields thus throwing the light everywhere.

Exactly, you will need to buy something with more value to remove that effect.
these are the same ones but i have them in clear.. my hid's are 8k just get the h4 hid kit and our good to go. i mounts the ballast in btwn the high and low beams. not to do and you see way better at night. i'll try to take some night pics when im done with my lsx swap
bro they are all the same the housing dosent come with the hid's. i guess its there incase you dont have hids. the projector housing is h4 just get good quality hid brands and you shouldn't have a problem.
Wasnt interested in it.Just asking & btw dont think for a second those are actually projectors. It just a magnifying lense in a cheap housing, & the black housing reflects even less light than the chrome one.I dont understand why people keep thinking those are projectors.
