Fuel Cell Mounting

I am going to put a 16 gallon fuel cell in my car. I was considering mounting it in the rear "luggage well". Please post pics. Please do not tell me to use the search, I have...there is hardly anything on this subject that is relevant other than some people telling you to use the search. Also, if you do not have a fuel cell or have not mounted one in a thirdgen fbody, please do not post. I do not want to sound rude, I just do not want to have this flooded with uneducated opinions. Thanks in advance.

Re: Fuel Cell Mounting

Just for note, if you do a trunk mounted cell you will have to build a "firewall" that divides the entire back end of the car off from the passenger compartment.

I personally have never done a fuel cell in a vehicle that still had stock type flooring/trunk.

Re: Fuel Cell Mounting

Here's how we mounted an eight gallon fuel cell in the race car:

Shagwell is right though, you need to seperate the rear portion from the passenger compartment:

Hope this helps.

Depends on a lot of things. For starters, it's not an easy job to get done properly on these cars, and line routing can be an absolute PITA. A lot of racers would preffer not to carry so much fuel(weight + safety), and only running a few gallons in the bottom of a stock tank could easily result in starvation.
