Fiberglass front bumper

I've been searching for information on making body panels out of fiberglass and have found quite a bit and many links to websites, but was wondering if anyone has already made their own front bumper cover? If so, pictures of the final product and advice on how to make the molds and plugs would be very helpful. This would be my first fiberglass project. I want to make a fairly stock looking cover for an '89 Formula, but rework the area with the black inserts into some kind of intake/scoops. I'm also considering eliminating the recessed bottom detail that wraps around. Thoughts?

Re: Fiberglass front bumper

So this is your very first time dealing with fiberglass? . . .
You should definitely pick up a fiberglass bondo kit, other safety / respirator equipment im sure you'll find recommendations on sites dealing with glass. anyways with your fiberglass bondo kit (found at most places that sell automotive) you should practice and get a feel for it before you take on a huge project. use plastic spoons for molds and plugs for some practice etc. I find glass to be fairy easy to work with just messy and you go through alot of supplies. also there are alot of good books out there dealing with glass and can be very helpfull and they will have almost all the info you may need to get you to where you want to be with your project
