Re: test engine shot

Thats very cool Can you give some details?

I'm slowly but surely working on a bolt in SLA/double wishbone conversion, I noticed the spindle looks like a cast aluminum piece. Is it custom off the shelf for another app or off a production car I didnt consider?

Re: test engine shot

Just thought I'd post this now that I know it works

the front suspension is:
ccw 18x10 275/35 pilot sport
wilwood 4 piston 14'' brakes
hat n rotors
C4 spinldes
custom steering arms - 1x1/2 in steel bolted with 3 of the spindle rotor bolts
modified AFCO 7inch upper arm - mounted to 1/4 in brackets on 1/4 in support plate
custom 16.8 in lower arms - hyperflex bushings
c4 ball joints
custom kmbr
4rth Gen rack
QA1 10'' - 500lbs spring -

I used performance trends 2D suspension analyzer to determine layout

I cut flat opening across the frame where it protrudes out for the stock spring-
(there were little dimples on eack forward side) and welded a 3/16 inch plate over it
front and back and welded on the upper coil over bracket

I welded a T shaped connecting the front and rear walls of the spring hole in the frame and the back side of that plate for strength - on the drivers side the support for the steering
shaft is welded to that T support

and when I cut the shock tower out I had to weld the seam that ended up on the frame

and I welded and X bar between the frame rails behind the radiator supporting the sway bar mounts

I wanted weight loss and improved handling but most of the weight I lost was due to
the rack conversion, kmbr (weighed 20 lbs est) and the brake package (30 lbs under 1le) because of the extra bracing I added

I just got it on the road - and now tuning - thanks to Mark and autoprom
