Hi, I'm new here and Really love this site!!! everything I ever ask google sends me here =) now I have a question I cant find an answer too... I have a 1986 sport coupe and i'm cloning it into an IROC... in the proses I got an Iroc Gauge cluster and was putting it in, I took the dash board off and left it on the roof of my car. now the wind must have blow it behind me and landed it under my wheels cuz when I went to back up to test my speedometer I ran it over..... ='( now I have cracks in it but its structurally sound. can I re do the black Vinyl or what ever its made of? or should I just try to find another one. It was in perfect condition and black.
dude save your self the trouble and time and go to a bunch of junk yards and pick one there really not that expencive i picked a new dash up for my bird at a junk yard in really good condish for like 30 bucks so youll have to do some hunting but you find one in the long run if you dont find one year one sells them just call them and order a catalog from them and theyve got all kinds of goodies

I think that's a pretty bit headache too...?
Digging through junkyards will more than likely be an effort in futility. Good condition dash pads get snapped up FAST, they're like hens teeth. I'd try to buy one from a board member that has diligently scooped up a good condition one (like I did!).
I've never heard of anyone recovering one successfully, but boy i'd love to hear if someone did..
I recovered mine with leather and put my defrost vents back in it. I don't need it now since I have a knight rider dash. It turned out nice. it does have some cracks under the leather. I had some leather upstairs so I just did it myself. I should have filled in the cracks before I put the leather in it. It could always be done and just re glue it back on.
i recovered mine. it turned out ok except around the defrost vents and speakers.
Did you recover it with fabric and resin like the resto shops do?
Comes out pretty nice. Coat the fabric in resin, stretch it over the dash pad.
You end up with the texture of the fabric, whatever it may be, but rock hard and easy to clean/armorall, etc.
