Re: 2k hp capable street car build

upgrading the cooling system. Picked up a dual LT1 fan setup... it was pretty tough to shoehorn it in! Mounting isn't done but you can see that it will go...

Thanks guys!

Little more done.

Fabricated mounts for the fans. Welded tabs on the radiator, drilled and tapped. Made a hanger for the top of the fans.

No more out of fuel excuses... this will deliver everything that all of my fuel injectors can use, at whatever pressure they will run at.

Re: 2k hp capable street car build

factory is bottom for ease of wire routing. you can run the fan either way. ive used them as a pusher fan on my mud truck too. took them out of the shroud and run the fans on their own. cant do that with an ls1, they are intergrated. need to be lt1.

need to get the rubber flaps for them to get all the cooling at low speed.
looks like you did a good job of making them fit.

Re: 2k hp capable street car build

I had to relocate the oil filter to make room for the fuel pump drive cable.... finally got that done. The oil filter is now above the passenger through the floor subframe connector near the transmission cooler. 12' of -12AN line later, it works leak free.

I got the cable ordered, still waiting on it to show up. Took the car for a drive yesterday, still working on the Holley tuneup... feels pretty quick!

I picked up a Davis self learning traction control too, have yet to get it running, but it should help a bunch!

"how cute! you need 2 walbro 255's"

you're pushing 1545 LPH!

lol, max volume on your pump would empty the tank in about 3 minutes!

Little fun from last night. I'm on gates, he's on motor. He stole the hit the first time, I did the second time.

He makes ~850 rwhp on motor (reher Morrison 565 13:1 solid roller, fogger and a plate too). I used enough fuel for 950 flywheel last night.

Re: 2k hp capable street car build

Tore the car down again, time for the mechanical pump install.

Draining the fuel

Pump connected to -12 weldon prefilter. Fitting between pump and filter required some grinding to clear pump body... a -10 fitting fit fine, the -12 was a bit too big.

Got the pump mounted and in.... primed it and saw 58-60 psi fuel pressure. Hopefully it works well! Going to route the cable tonight and fire it off....

Ever wondered what to do when your IAC won't fit on the side of your throttle body because it hits something?

I fabricated a remote IAC setup.

Re: 2k hp capable street car build

Log of the traction control from last night.... I think this is a 40 mph high gear pull on the gates. Not much of one anyway.

You can see the timing retard when the driveshaft rpm spikes up and it kills the spike every time. I suspect I'm giving it too much retard and killing performance, but need more testing to see.
