Best firebird hood?
i am looking for a hood for my 89 Firebird to give it a more agressive apearance.
I was planning on getting the Ram Air Hood from www.ramairhood.com, but after looking at it for a while it looks a little plain and boring, and not very agressive.
What do you guys reccomend?

I love the bulge. Glad it came on my formy. I never liked cowls before but a nice 1" or 2" cowl would look good on a bird.

That is a weird hood 4mul8r, but weird in a factory sense, not looks. I like it, it is very original. I have never seen a t/a with that hood. Are you sure it is stock?

It was on the car when I bought it,....but it definately isn't factory. It's fiberglass, fairly thick, and damn light. I have no idea who makes this hood or where the hood was bought. One of the things I like best about it is that it looks like a formula hood with a mirred bulge on it,....which I was thinking about that idea when I had my 89 Formula,....(although my concept was to incorporate the iroc louvers into the bulges).....probably a good thing I got my TA before I attempted it though....

Functional Ram air hood
Had a accident, so had to change my hood, had a tough decision between ram air and power bulge. Actually having a functional ram air hood with K&N air filter really makes a difference in performance and gas mileage as compared to just power bulge hood. I got a gain of 1.5 miles after having ram air.

I liked the 2" cowl that was up there... it just looked right. The powerbulge looks tough too.
IMO, the RA hoods just look too... too.... too big on these cars. Just my $0.02

Looking for hood for a Twin Turbo Setup
Hy guys,
I am looking for a hood that have twin style air ducts on each side for my GTA. I remember seeing one for the Camaro, but not sure if its also available for TA's. Also the Camaro hood I saw had a strange cowl induction in the middle with slots on each side which I personally dislike. Does anyone knows of a company that makes a GTA style hood but with just the air inlets on each side? I dont mind if it dosent includes brackets for lifting or if there is no way of using the pivoting lifting brackets with this new hood, in fact I would preffer to use pins instead to hold it down.

I know that you can get that IMSA hood from Motion Glass. I almost bought that one back in the middle 90's for my 82, but goth that "Twin-Turbo" one instead. Since trying to get that hood to fit, I have never even looked into getting another aftermarket hood. I would like to see someone come up with a C5 style scoop for the Firebirds though. I think that would be just enough attitude on there. I have to say that my favorite hood is the stock GTA (4-vent) hood. The powerbulge hood is cool, but a little too 80's for my taste. I know, these CARS are 80's, but I just think it looks dated that's all.
