| In 1982 there where two 4 speed transmissions used, a Borg-Warner for S/E’s and T/A’s with V8’s and a 4 speed made by Saginaw for all others. In July ‘82 they ran out of the Borg-Warner units and began putting Saginaw 4 speeds in all cars. To tell the difference: the reverse on the Borg-Warner tranny is to the left and forward while the Saginaw 4 speeds is to the left and back. If there is anything else in it, it’s aftermarket.
This should probably be in the history section, hope that helps. |
