I am selling my 1992 Trans Am GTA with 190K miles. It is white hard top, with tan cloth interior. This has the 5.7L L98 engine, with the 700-R4 automatic transmission. There were only 508 of these cars made. This has been my daily driver for the past couple years, very fast and fun car to drive. I hate to sell it but I now have 3 cars and just no room to keep them all. I’m asking $2200 OBO – please, serious offers only.
I bought this car when it had 166K miles a couple years ago. Since then I have put countless hours and lots of money into maintenance, repair, and performance parts. I haven’t been able to smog this car in CA, my NOX readings have been too high. I’ve been told that throwing some magnaflow hi-flo cats (this is a dual cat car) in it would get it to pass, but I recently bought a 93 6-speed and don’t have the time or money to invest.
Interior is pretty nice – there’s a rip in the driver’s seat and the dash just recently developed a crack. Everything else is pretty nice (see pics). Right now I don’t have the cd-player installed, but I do have an extra stock radio/tape deck I can put it at your request (but I’d recommend an aftermarket cd/mp3 player )
The owner before me must have had an accident because the nose isn’t aligned perfectly flush with the hood and fenders. There is a couple bolts missing that I think should fix it up nicely. There is a very small dent on the driver’s side fender, and a little bigger dent on the passenger side fender. A small piece of the passenger side ground effect broke off. Paint looks good, the rear spoiler and GTA lights of course look awesome!
Overall, the car is pretty solid but is 15 years old. A little bit of time and money can have this car smoking! It averages 19mpg highway (overdrive) and 14mpg city. Exhaust makes this car sound truly awesome.
Here is a list of all the things to the best of my knowledge about this car:
Tinted windows, true late model BEAUTIFUL gold GTA wheels, new wipers, cruise control, good tires 245/50/16 all around with 80% tread left, replaced all 4 brake pads and rotors a year ago, new idler arm, new passenger side window motor, power locks, racing steering wheel, new stock ac delco plugs, new wires, timing is verified 6* BTDC, new fuel filter, new o2 sensor, VATS has been disabled, stock ECU but also including custom chip from Brian @ tpichips.com, new hood and hatch struts, working hatch pulldown motor, center console hinge is broken but still works, one of the radiator fans is always on when the key is on, new thermostat, all new vacuum hoses & upper radiator hose, relocated charcoal cannister
Performance Parts:

Custom 3” Mandrel bent Catback, with flowmaster muffler and dual 3” chrome tips
SLP Cold Air Intake
Throttle Body Air Foil
A/C delete pully
Accel 24# injectors
MSD cap & rotor
I have lots of other parts lying around too, please contact me if you’re interested.
future mods include... Ram Air II hood, 4th gen center console w/ shifter, new two tone paint, a 91-2 trans am front, and some things I haven't thought of yet.... hehehehe...
I guess Nick (Mithril) missed this post. The car is in great running condition except that the state of CA will not pass it for smog. Nick can likely tell you what he's done to remedy that situation.
Drop me a PM or an email if you need to get in contact with him. I have his number.
Is this car still for sale nad if so can you pm me or post more detailed pics including one of the RPO sticker. Thanks.
