FS: 1985 Autoform Trans Am 2 seat convertible! 13,900 miles

Alight,

Well I kind of hate to have to help my parents advertise this because I absolutely LOVE the car. So cool, but anyways.....

They have a 1985 Autoform convertible trans am for sale with the 305 fuel injected V8 engine (not TPI). Red with silver ground effects. By most estimates there were only around 150 of these made the entire year for the TAs. Pictures and details are in the add link below. The car sits in the garage with a cover and is only ever taken out on perfect days.

Any more specific questions please ask or call the number listed. I'm the son and in Kansas City. The car would be picked up or transported from my parents in El Dorado, KS as the add states. I would just like it to go to a good home such as someone on this board would provide.

Re: FS: 1985 Autoform 2 seat convertible! 13,900 miles

For some reason I can't get the add link to work so...

1985 PONTIAC TRANS AM ROADSTER 2 SEAT CONVERTIBLE Only 13,900 miles. This rare 2 seat roadster is a limited build, low mileage (13,900) factory Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with an '85 custom conversion by AutoForms Engineering from Elkhardt, Indiana. Sanctioned by GM each unit built received its own S/N in the door jamb (AFC5-00241 is ours). It took over two weeks to build each car and customers paid up to an additional $14,000 for the option (with mark up). AutoForms worked directly with Pontiac dealers, not walk-in customers. New cars were shipped to AutoForm and when completed, they were redelivered to the dealer. It came from the factory with Macpherson strut suspension, PS, power front disc brakes, halogen headlamps, foglamps, aluminum Turbo wheels, rear deck spoiler, gauges/tach, sport mirrors, reclining bucket seat, Rally tuned suspension, front fender 'extractors', Aero package (ground effects), hood louvers and Delco radio system. Additional options: power door locks, tinted Soft Ray glass, romote deck lid release, luxury trim group, Cycle windshield wipers, A/C, power remote mirrors, cruise control and a big LG4 5.0 litre V8 with automatic OD transmission, AM/FM cassette radio. Finished in Blaze Red, this car has an excellent Gray/Black velour interior with Black door panels. You can buy this one of a kind rare two seater roadster for $16,900. Call 316-640-7546 or 316-320-1056. El Dorado, KS

Re: FS: 1985 Autoform 2 seat convertible! 13,900 miles

Is this the same car that was bought maybe a year ago in Florida? I saw that car advertised and it was super nice. The price for yours is not bad at all. Mine is an 85 with 14,500 miles on it and it has the Tune Port Injection engine which is a big plus. I wouldn't sell mine for what you are asking. These cars are so hard to find in great condition.

A 1985 Z28 just sold on Ebay. They showed it had 29k miles on it. It sold for 4,400. It seemed a little rough around the edges and the interior had been redone at some point. Also the top. My top needs a little big of work on one corner and new snaps but thats about it. Mine has a slight shake when I drive slow. I think maybe the frame X member is not tight. I need to check it out. Is yours smooth down the road?

My dad never did end up selling it. If someone came around with the $17,000 or so he probably still would sell it. Yeah this is that same car from Florida.

I personally don't recall a shake, but I haven't driven it any kind of long distance really. Its more noisy of course since its a convertible, but thats all I really notice.
