1983 trans am

well i have lost interest in my trans am. it just sits in my drive way taking up space for my other ride. {eastern nebraska, near omaha.}
it is a 1983 trans am, 305, 700r4 tranny. lsd 3.42 rear end. may possibly be a 3.23 rear gear. not 100% sure. glass t-tops that do not leak! all wheel disc brakes. previous owner blocked off the rear brakes so he could power brake it. (stupid move) engine runs OK, but it weak, doesnt drip oil on ground but is covered in oil, so it must leak from somewhere. body has only one spot that has damage otherwise is in very good condition, in my opinion. the only damage is to the passenger side, rear part of front fender and front part of door, and where the mirrior was. it happened when the previous owner was pulling into his garage, it was icy. he pushed the brakes and since he didnt have rear brakes, the tires keep spinning and slid him into the side of the garage, causing the damage (which isnt THAT bad). car has original finned rims, which i think are ugly. the dual exhaust is not tastfully done, i hate the look. front and rear bumpers are is very good shape, not sagging or cracking. both headlights work perfectly. car has power steering, locks, brakes, and windows. drivers side window works only about 40% of the time. drivers side door handle on the outside is broken, but still works, just one side of the hinge is broken. inside drivers door handle was snapped off, so i made one and rivited it on. works ok but ugly. car has aprox. 170,000 miles. cd player is broken. back seat interior is pretty nice, but front kinda sucks. some tears. and sun warped stuff. has a dash cover. i replaced the ignition cylinder. i tighted and put lock tight on the 4 torx screws way down in the column, (pain in the REAR!!!) tilt steering works good. shifter handle is missing, just the shifter stick. trannsmission works perfectly from what i can tell, shifts great. seat belts dont work, which i read is manditory on all of these cars.. hahaha.. i think i have acuratley and honestly described the car, i hope i dont make it sound too bad. i bought the car for 1100$ i drove it for two months, 60 miles a day round trip to work and back. 4 days a week. ran fine, averaged about 18 miles per gallon. i would like to get atleast 800$ out of it, but will be taking reasonable offers.. here are the pics i have, they kinda suck because they are cell phone pics.. (also, i believe car was painted at one time, the bird on the hood and the logos are vynil, says firebird, but title says transam.)

edit: almost forgot, the engine is carbed. quadrajunk.

heres the damaged area....

thanks for looking. if you have any questions, please ask. -Matt

Re: 1983 trans am

the engine has like no guts at all.. doesnt bog, when fully warmed up. and it doesnt make that knocking noise anymore, unless you mash the pedal to the floor... so i dont know what it is. but it runs..hahah. i would recommend replacing it, to make it a daily driver.

Re: 1983 trans am

Do you have more pics? Are the drivers side door and fender in good condition? I am in Council Bluffs, IA and may be interested in this. Let me know. Thanks!
