88 Firebird Formula 350, Adrian, Michigan

200,000 and some change miles. Body has minor rust hole ( about 2 in.s dia.) in front of the right rear wheel. Surface rust (bad, but, no holes) on both doors. Rest of the body is in pretty good shape, clear coat has peeled from horizontal surfaces. Car is "Arrest Me First" Red, with a medium dark grey interior.

Engine runs great, (even with the year old gas....) does not burn oil. Valve seals have been replaced. no leaks that I am aware of either. Does need a new water pump. (less than a year old, guess that's what I get for getting a "cheap" one.) Throttle body airfoil, no cat, Edlebrock, 3in. Catback. Sounds REALLY nice. Adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Transmission is original, and shifts nice. It is all stock. If you want 'em, I have two rebuildable cores as well, one was out of an 88 camaro, and still worked when it was pulled. The differential had blown up, not the trans...... It has been in storage, without fluid, for about 16 years, so, rebuild it first, drive it second. The other one, I have not even a vague idea where it came from, but, it is out of a post 88 F body..... I scrapped several a handfull of years back....

Interior is in pretty good shape. The sun visors and headliner need replaced, drivers seat shows some wear on the seatback, toward the bottom, where ya slide in all the time...... Rest of the seats are pretty nice.

Rear end is a 3.23 limited slip unit, GM 7.5in. It is completely rebuilt, with all new bearings and seals around 3 years ago. Original gears. Car came with a 9 bolt, but, I blew an axle bearing, had too much trouble finding parts for it, so, rebuilt the GM unit I had laying around......

This car has been mechanic driven (for better or worse....) since 1997, and driven by a pilot before that, I.E. it has been VERY well maintained. I have replaced the shocks/struts (monroe gasmatics, I think....) fuel pump and sending unit, Rear tires, (265/50/16 F/R) drivers P/W motor, Front rotors were replaced on the last brake job, and really expensive brake pads... I think they were carbon metallic??? Can't remember.....

This car runs/drives well, gets between 18 and 22 mpg, if driven nicely, and is a BLAST to have. But, not in winter.... and, not if you have five folks you need to cart around.... (unless they are REALLY friendly, and young siblings generally are NOT....)

I also have a 400 short block, and some assorted extra TPI parts that go with it, if ya want 'em. I will sell everything for 2250.00, or, best offer. Bear in mind, I am selling this car because I want to, not because I have to. Lowball offers will not even get a response.

Please email be at brianp61@verizon.net. I don't get to the boards real often.....

Adrian is about 80 miles West of Detroit, Michigan, or, 35 miles NorthWest of Toledo, Oh.

Arrest Me First Red, with a medium dark grey interior. I live in the airport section, in adrian. You would actually have to be looking for me to see the car.... kinda off the beaten track.

Re: 88 Firebird Formula 350, Adrian, Michigan

I am looking for a $2K project car and want to check this car out. I am originally from Adrian, now I live in Plymouth, but I come home every weekend to visit all my friends and family in Adrian. Is there a good time for me to come test drive it? Is the 400 complete? I'm thinking Formula 400!

Please get in touch with me and PM me directions.

Still for sale. This would be an excellent project, what with the extra parts and all.

Lotsa views, but, no interest? I am going to start EBay-ing off some of the extra parts..... unless someone comes across with money soon.

Sorry I missed you last time. I will be in Adrian this Satuday. I will try and stop by then, not sure what time though. I am so pissed I could not find your house. I drove around for like 45 minutes in the airport section with no luck.

Re: 88 Firebird Formula 350, Adrian, Michigan

You prolly don't have my phone number..... which would have made life much easier.....

I should be home most of the day Saturday, but, with the amount of snow we are getting, I don't think driving the car around will be a very good idea.... They don't plow the tertiary roads very well.....

I will PM my address and phone number....

Still for sale. 1900 or best offer for the car. I am going to EBay the parts. Whatever is still around if/when someone buys it, will be negotiable.

Well then..... Still have the car. Entertaining any reasonable offer. Need this to go, before the powers-that-be start getting even MORE upset with me....
