The good - brother in law bought it new and drove like your grandmother. 305 runs nice and stong. It sat from 99-04 when I did accel coil, accel 8.8 wires, intake gasket, plugs, full set accel injectors, accel adjustable fuel pressure regulator, new gas struts hatch and hood, speed sensor in the trans, temp sensor up front, K & N, and steering gear box. T-tops don't leak, power windows, mirrors, and locks all work. Grey cloth interior is in great shape with only one small hole in the pass seat and a headliner that is just starting to go. Sony CD radio is cleanly installed. Original radio comes with the car along with the never used T-top shades. Trunk pull down assembly is on the bench next to the headlight motors. They both failed after posting on craigslist, of course. Pull down is getting rebuilt and headlight motors are getting new bushings inside. Just read the high beam adjustment article and did the adjustment. Look at all the crap you won't have to do!
The bad - It need tires. 10 year old Toyo's are dry rotted and almost gone. Plan on some coin for the new 245/50/16's. It has a weird problem with fuel spilling out down the side of the car when the tank is full, and (no surprise) the occasional smell of fuel. Some rust is showing up on driver side wheel wells, pass. side under the trim behind the front wheel well. Clearcoat on the wing is shot. Steering is greatly improved by the gearbox, but still a little loose. Brakes started pulling to the left after putting the car on Craigslist a few weeks ago. It doesn't want to leave me. I had to peel the leather off of the steering wheel as it was split and growing a hole at 12 o'clock. Working on getting the rubber cement off the wheel. What a pain in the butt.
