Please read Sticky rules...Don,t start ad with What is my car worth (your car is worth as much as you can get for it) & you must put asking price. Thanx.
He probably says that because he has bought and sold hundreds of these cars.
The thing is, thirdgens are just not yet valuable, except for the super rare or low mileage ones. I don't think a 305 TBI car with 150k would ever sell for that appraised value you quoted. That's not a slam against your car, which might be super clean, it just seems like the truth. When is the last time you saw a TBI car with that mileage sell for that much with some mods?
True, but there is actually a market where I am from where these cars get moved pretty easily. So I am not sure if I would ever get $7000 for her but most ppl like hearse will always low ball you. I have seen some of his comments in the for sale thread where he is bashing the asking price. He wants cars for cheap so he can flip them.
The appraisals I think are just for collectors, I mean its another 5 or 6 years before my car is an antique and I have an opportunity to get a 91' GTA, with 69000 kms in the spring so I am just seeing what my current car will fetch on the open market. I won't be selling her online, it will be a local sale most likely, but I will like to get sensible opinions not just some flipper.
I will keep her though if I cannot get the price I want. Which BTW is not $7000 lol.
Thanks.
I hear you, and I hope you get what you want for the car.
To be fair, though, Fred isn't just "some flipper." He does love these cars and has owned more than probably anyone on this board, so he knows what they go for.
Maybe my 150k '92 Formula L98 CC1 would sell for big money up there! Only a few hundred or less ever made!
I am looking for more like 5k as the selling price, a price I should be able to get here (local). I already turned down one offer for $7000 but he has since bought another 3rd gen and at that time I did not want to sell her. I still don't to be honest and I won't sell her unless I get the 91 GTA L98 that I want.
What alot of people don't know (not sure what its like in the US) the engine size adds little to the value of the car, in Canada, according to my appraisal guy, the 350 doesn't add enough value to the car to take notice. Most of difference in worth is the mileage, and rarity of the car. My car also gets some value believe it or not just because its a 92.
