'92 Formula L98

<sigh> Here we go.

Reluctantly offering my '92 Formula L98 with t-tops for sale. Anyone who knows thirdgens knows about how many were made with that combo. Car is a solid driver. Not a show car. Car does not come with the Ronals or the 4th gen seats...I'll reinstall the excellent condition original black cloth seats and the 16" Formula wheels with good rubber. About 150k on the clock. Daily driven. Have done much work since purchasing three years ago. New brakes, front end parts, new oil pan and gasket (that was a huge dealership bill) tune-up, new belt and t-stat. E-brake does not hold very well. Airdam is off the car, just have been too lazy to reinstall. I might also remove the custom kickpanel speaker enclosures...it would be hard for me to find another set in the future. Looking for a quick cash sale. If it doesn't go quick, I'll lose my nerve and decide to keep it. $3700 firm.

Re: '92 Formula L98

Bump for today. A few hundred of these cars existed when new. This many years later, there are obviosuly even fewer. This one was never hot rodded. Stock for the most part. The only "mods" I made were to the interior, and can be changed. No rot. Recently noticed some bubbling in the PS quarter. When thirdgens become popular, which will happen, this model will be sought after. How can it not be?

How much would you want for the car WITH the rims and console?

4th gen seats, you mean? The 4th gen console has to stay, since I don't have the stock one to put back in anymore.

What do Ronals cost, when you can find a set? These are excellent and have custom centers that are much cooler than the stock pieces.

The 4th gen seats are, in my mind, a $3-400 upgrade.

Re: '92 Formula L98

I apologize for the console mistake. Yes, I meant the seats. I'm not sure about how hard it is to find the rims but I just want a straigt price on what you want for the car the way you have it sitting in the two pics you have listed. Is there anything wrong with the passenger door as far as the paint is concerned? It looks like the door has a couple of discoloration spots on it unless that is just the picture looking funny. Do you have additional pics of the car you could send me? Thanks

Re: '92 Formula L98

Good eye on the PS door. The paint is a lower quality job. Looks presentable, especially so after a clay bar, polish, and wax, but has quite a few flaws, some significant. That spot must just be where the respray was thinner, allowing the original red to show through. That's my guess. For a driver, I'd keep the paint, for a pampered car, it'd have to be redone.

The Ronals are essentially impossible to find. The last set to sell here on TGO was back in July, for around $1500. Mine are super nice, so I'd say to add $1600 to the price of the car for the wheels. If the 4th gen Camaro seats stay, then that is another few hundred added on.

Now all that makes a sale price that few people are willing to pay for a non-low mile thirdgen these days. But heck, that's less than I have into it! lol

What's that in your avatar, an Impala SS?

Re: '92 Formula L98

I am extremely fond of the Formulas and for the Thirdgen cars period for that matter and I do like your car. Without more pics it is difficult to make a decision but I would definitely be interested in seeing more. As for the Impala SS, yes, that is my current ride. I am selling her to find another nice project. I also have a Grand Prix GXP that I am selling but not so serious about that one. I DO love that car a lot as well. But if you could send me pics of your car I would like to view them. My email address is NSCR24first@aol.com. Thanks very much.

Oh, yes, if you would like to see my Impala SS here is my site for it http://cardomain.com/ride/3145975. I think it is the best I have ever seen for one of these Impalas. Thanks again.

Re: '92 Formula L98

The only other good shots of the Formula that I have now are more beauty shots from the same series as above. They look good, but aren't really geared towards showing all the parts of the car to a potential buyer. Please let me try to clean her up a bit again (engine is dirty and interior needs to be vacuumed) and take a variety of shots. You're kind of far away, though. I don't know about you, but I'd neve be comfortable buying a car from so far away. You can't trust anyone these days to be honest, you know?

If this one goes, all I'll have left is a basket case '92 TA L98 that is partially stripped and languishing in my old barn. I'd like to restore it, but yowzers, it'll be a big job.

Re: '92 Formula L98

Taking the car off the market. Not even one offer. I think that at some point in the future, someone is going to regret not having purchased this car, and maybe I'll appreciate not having sold it lol.
