1984 Trans Am for sale! Overhauled engine, transmission and more!
Up for sale is my 1984 Trans Am. I bought this car about 1 year ago with the intention of turning it into the Knight Rider car but situations has changed and I don't really have the money or time to continue. I bought this car off of Craigslist and found it had a host of problems which ran through my money pretty quick. After replacing all the brakes and rotors (all disc brakes) I found the engine had some major problems and decided to have it rebuilt, while I had that out I decided to have the transmission rebuilt as well. This is a 305 with a mild cam, I changed everything including water pump, alternator, starter, steering pump, u-joints, radiator and added headers and y pipe. Also an expensive Eldebrock intake with new Eldebrock carburetor. The 700R transmission was rebuilt with a mild shift kit. Needless to say, this all cost a lot but I did get the car running really good. I also put a new muffler on it and bought (but haven't put the on yet) new struts for front and new shocks for the back. Also has newer tires and I put new carpet in it and seats from a 2001 Z28, which includes a power driver seat.
This car has less than 700 miles on the rebuilt engine and transmission. It has become my daily driver and I have no problem with it. It still needs body work and other vaious little items need work but this is a great car for someone that wants to drive the car while they restore it. Most of the expensive stuff is already done, a great deal for someone willing to finish the job. Needs a condensor and and AC compressor put in, also needs a new fan relay I think. It is currently just running on the AC fan, but never goes over 190 degrees.
My reason for selling is I am taking over my daughter's car payment April 1st and can't afford to make payments and continue to sink money into the TA. Right now I have around $4,000 in this car, looking for best offer or willing to trade for a nice street motorcycle at least 600cc or bigger or even consider other smaller cars (with automatic) that my daughter can drive. I am willing to listen to any cash offers, cash and trade or even out right trades if the item is of equal value.
This car still needs work but it is currently my daily driver and I don't have any problems with it - so it is a good car to drive while you fix it up.
