Cutting right to it: Gauging Interest. Currently needed as a DD.
Sup everyone,
Up for sale is my 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It is black with gold accents running along the bottom with gold matching rims. It was my drive to school car which was only around 8 miles round trip. It sounds mean when revved and purrs nicely at idle. I was told the first owner was an old lady in her 70s who was selling the car because she had a hard time getting in and out of it. I bought it from the person who was holding it for her. I do not have the carfax of the car, but I believe the story because the interior is not abused. I have not driven the car much other than driving to school and sometimes around town to the movies and such. I have driven it on a road course once at Englishtown, NJ and I can tell you that it can handle very well despite it's age.
There is a dent in the back passenger bumper area from the previous owner. I have tried to adjust the bumper as best I could. The taillight was cracked because of it, so I bought a full set and put them on. I can include the originals if you want them. The paint on the car is how I bought it. It still has the original paint and clearcoat although it has been touched up in areas. It could use a nice claybar. Theres some rust on the lower area near the tires that I have tried to remove. The gold paint and striping running along the bottom is original. The original vinyl emblems/decals are still on there, but obviously faded. There is a rip on the drivers seat, but can be covered with seat covers. The dashboard has a dried line from the speaker to the back of the dash on both sides. Otherwise, the interior is in great condition. The seats are tan and the carpet is doeskin (tan) All it needs is a good cleaning. The seats are leather from what I can tell by the feel. The trunk has the factory security cover. It has manual windows and locks along with an aftermarket security alarm. The front bumper grills that were rotted have been replaced with brand new ones. The headlights flip up and down perfectly. The brakes stop the car nice and strong.
The rims are the 14" turbocast with the bowling ball hubcaps. It's a 350 engine with a 4 speed stick.
It has 103,120 original miles on the body as of now. The original carbbed LG4 305 engine was swapped out at around 101,200 miles on 5/13/08. New clutch was put in on 5/19/08. Brakes were done at around 101,100 on 4/22-4/24/08.
The car comes with 4-14" bowling ball caps like on KITT and 2 extra 14" turbocast rims. One rim has a new tire, 185/70/14 on it. It's smaller than whats on it, but good for a spare.
I would prefer the car going to someone who will take care of it and keep it close to stock condition. There are not many early thirdgen birds (82-84) running around anymore much less in good condition. I would not like someone gutting the interior up or ricing out the exterior and removing it's class, but that's just me. I would not prefer it being gutted into a dragster either. Again, that's just me. I would keep the car if I could, but I am no position of it and would like it going to someone who will respect it. This is the better of my two thirdgens, but my 83 has been in the family since it was bought from the factory and I will never get rid of it. Please PM me for any questions or for more contact info or pic requests. I don't have an awesome camera so I'll be using my phone. If you want to check it out, just give me a heads up and I'll work it out. I'm in New York City.

Re: 1982 Firebird Trans Am (Black Carbbed 350, M4)
Thanks for the link, I'll have to run the car with a GPS for precision.
It's manual locks. I don't know if there is a door open sensor, but I know it'll alarm by knocking on the car. It also alarmed when I opened the trunk with the key. Hope that helps.

Looked at the link. It only has T-5s. The one in this car is the one carried over from 81(?) which I think is the Saginaw Muncie 4 Speed. Haven't found the ratios.

Thanks!
Where in SI? Don't think I've seen your car around? PM if you don't want to post it.
-Edit-
Nvm, now I remember seeing your car. It was that silver one. I think my brother pulled up next to you one time.
