92 Formula L98 & T-5, $5600 or trade PRICE DROP - $4200
Low production, rare combination 92 Firebird Formula (my estimate of 25 built like this), w/WS6 pkg. including rear disk, T-5 world class 5 speed, 305 TPI, T-Tops, Jamaica yellow w/black cloth interior.
Car has 156k miles, motor is not original, been upgraded to 350 TPI with 20k miles on stock rebuilt. Other mods – new paint 3 yrs ago (chrome yellow) 3” cowl hood (fiberglass-harwood), 92 front bumper replaced with 90 front bumper, rear end gears changed to 4.10’s short shifter, 2” lowering springs, high volume oil pump, 4th Gen Formula 350 decal kit, ARC steering wheel.
Has had recent battery, alternator, and O2 senor. Comes with new KYB shocks & struts, original steering wheel w/airbag, stock coil springs, total of 6 GTA wheels 2 rears and 4 fronts (mounted).
Needs - 3rd to 4th gear synchro is bad but slow easy shift produces no grinding, driver door hangs a bit but closes fine, A/C compressor leaks, could use a tune up, slow drain on battery.
I searched 4 years and went thru 3 T/A’s before finding this one. This is pretty much what I’ve always wanted but now I can’t afford it. I’ve got a 16 yr. old and my insurance just went sky high. Will sell or trade down for a 3rd Gen (82-84) so that I can get classic, antique car insurance (much cheaper).
I’m asking $5,600 or trade down, but I’ve got to walk away with trade and $2,000 minimum. Call 512 431 2476

Funny, I just parked next to your twin tonight at Jack in the Box. Formula's in red are sweet but I need to find older for insurance purposes (classic car insurance is way cheaper than regular insurance). Thank You for the offer though.
On the insurance note, Im sure to always use an Independent Insurance Agent, mine gets his insurance written by nationwide, so Im paying about $80 every six months with higher limits and collision on the old 88. Geico and Progressive will screw you on prices btw...
Great combo with the 1987-90 nose and yellow/black. I would really like to take this 'Bird off your hands, but I just don't have anymore space in the garage/driveway. Best of luck selling and I wish it was available about a year ago...
Ironic - I purchased this car on Ebay one year ago. I hitched a ride to Fredricksburg Virginia, picked it up, and drove it 1500 miles back to central Texas.
Actually, I would love to hear feedback from any members up in Virginia that may know this car. Whoever put this together did a great job.

The previous owner did not like the factory banshee type front end and went with a 3" cowl fiberglass hood to make the car lighter. I don't see any signs of previous front end collision, so I buy his story. The original front end and hood, I don't have and are long gone.

Just a quick point of order, that isn't Jamaica yellow. Its way too bright. Jamaica yellow is more pale. Still a nice looking car though. Too bad its missing the correct front end as it would really look nice.

You are correct. The color is Ford chrome yellow. A much brighter yellow that looks 100% better. The fact remains that this is a true Jamaica yellow Formula. It still has original color in engine bay and door jambs. There are claims that only 47 Jamaica yellow Formulas were built. I'm thinking that Ws6, T-5, TPI, T-tops, and black interior makes this car one of maybe three or four. I personally hate Jamaica yellow but am happy to own one because they are rare. I am also very happy that the previous owner changed the color. As far as the front bumper, I wish it was the original . I like the banshee look.

Question: Why does this car have a non-91-92 nose?
To me, when I see a 3rd gen bird advertised as a '91 or '92 I expect to see the Banshee nose. This is clearly not that so I question your claims of rarity. It's a highly modded third gen as far as I am concerned and with the data you've presented.
Lastly, I'm not calling this a bad car by any means. Just not what I expect to see when you say "92 Formy".

I answered that same question on 6/21/09 on this post.
It was changed by previous owner because he didn't like the banshee nose. This is a true 92 Jamaica yellow Formula. I had added the RPO codes to prove it but somehow it got removed so I'll attach it again.

Honestly, I would keep your Formy vice giving it away. I never see decent 3rdGen 'Birds on the road anymore and think you'll regret giving her away for cheap...

Nope.... I got fronts on the front and fronts on the rear... that's the absolute best look.... and nothing rubs. Car also comes with 2 rears as well. When I bought the car, it had fronts on rear and rears on front and it did rub but it didn't stay like that for long.

Please realize how RARE this car is. And how often do you see an L98 & T-5 combo?
Anyways, I'm getting real close to selling my daily driver, yanking the Formula off the market, and making it my daily driver. So please don't let this one get away, it may not be available much longer.
