Ohio 1987 gta project for sale or trade in NW ohio 1000 - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

I hate to do it, but I'm going to put this out there and see if anyone wants it. I have to accept that I can't do a project this big anymore due to health reasons. I don't want it to just sit there. So hopefully one of you will want it.
Its an 87 Trans Am GTA. NO ENGINE OR TRANS IN CAR, car was originally a 350 TPI with 700R4 transmission. I did wind up getting the original transmission from the car, but not the torque converter.
BUT, no dents or rust either :] The only exterior damage is a busted tail light and center section between the tail lights, a broken windshield, and a missing center cap. The exterior was originally maroon but is now in primer, needs a lot of sanding but that's the body needs. The interior has some wear on the bolsters on the drivers seat, and two cracks in the dash, some wear on the arm rests, other than that, the interior is GREAT. The interior is red and black.
I've been stockpiling parts, I have the block ready, pistons, rods, intake, carb, exhaust, cooling system, trans, basically I need to get gaskets and bearings, and a torque converter, and still need to decide on a cam.
The trans is the stock 700r4 from the gta. It wasn't in the car when I bought it, but I wound up buying it from the guy later. The block is a 76 chevy 350 bored .060 over, its been cleaned and honed, pistons are already on the rods. I have two cranks, one needs polished, I have two intakes, an edelbrock performer and a factory GM 4 bbl intake, a quadra jet carb, I have a pair of hedman headersand a hedman Y-pipe. the car has a 3 inch exhaust system from the cat back. The car has the original "mesh" 16x8 aluminum wheels with 245's on the front and 255's on the back. I have a radiator, cooling fans, a couple distributors, two sets of valve covers, an extra block, a couple balancers, brackets, pulleys, drive shaft, trans cross-member.
I'll take 850 for the car as it sits, or a 1000 for the car and the trans and all the parts.
I will consider trades on a bike either 750cc or bigger, preferably bigger.

Jeremy, You are of course more than welcome to come look at it. I'm in Bryan, OH 43506 probably about 3 hours from you.

somebody come get her out of here, its driving me nuts having it just sit there, it deserves better than that. Not to mention the primer is driving me crazy, I want to start sanding and painting, and that would just be silly to put more money into something I can't put the engine in.
I'll try to be more open minded on trades, so if you've got anything rear wheel drive, I'll think about it.

well, someone finally showed interest, didn't come to look at it because I wouldn't accept his offer. He told me the car and all the parts isn't worth more than 700 dollars . I had to laugh

am I missing something? Is my asking price that far off? I just got another email telling me that judging by the description of the car, and the photos that I have posted, that the car is pretty much worthless as a project and I may as well sell it for parts :\ what the????

$1,000 seems resonable to me... Body looks solid. Just have be patient (easier said then done when you need the cash!)

I guess I should post that I'm not going to just junk this car, or give it away. So, no offense to anyone, but please don't bother offering 500 dollars, theres no way I'm dropping that far

wow, had another person email me, super interested until they saw the pics, then they asked me if I was joking and said they were insulted that I was trying to sell something in that bad of condition for so much. said they were expecting a lot more.
I might be getting rid of it today, a guy is coming over to see it in person, and wants to trade a 76 honda 750 for it, and I've seen them on craigslist for anywhere from 500 to 2000. so it will depend on what condition the bikes in I guess.

I think 1000 bucks is a great deal you have everything to put it together and its rust free?!?!?! I'm surprised its not gone yet.

I don't have EVERYTHING to put it together though. It would still need a torque converter, TV cable and linkage for the TV cable where it goes onto the carb, hoses, plugs and wires, altenator, and gaskets/rings/bearings
maybe that's whats killing it

If you lived closer to me I would help you put it together for hardly nothing . But you don't and I'm sad to see you get rid of it . $1000 for it and all the parts is a great buy the people must not realize it is a GTA with no rust and almost all the parts to get it going .
