Parting out an 89 Formula 350 w/ T Tops !!!SOLD!!!
Hey everybody. Well, summer is here, and my garage is too cluttered for my Dad's liking, so it is time for me to part out my 89 Formula 350, my former project. It became too much work to fix up for me to want to deal with, so I bought my 92 Formula 350 instead and now I have no need for this one.
It is a genuine, VIN-verifiable 1989 Formula 350 with factory T Tops and the L98.
The car needs: new tires, an oil cooler, vacuum lines routed catalytic converters, and body work, so anyone wishing to buy it as a whole car, bear that in mind. Not a huge amount of work for some people, just too much for me. I would take like $1200 for the whole thing, local pickup only for the car as a whole.
The car is missing: catalytic converters, rear spoiler (I have a replacement but it is in poor condition), correct good (has a vented T/A hood on it now), and oil cooler, as previously mentioned.
I am really trying hard to sell this thing as a whole, but if it doesn't sell as a whole by the end of July it'll probably get parted out.
(I can assure you that spoiler is not on the car anymore but the holes from it are still there)

No pics of the underbody, sorry. I can get pics, but it won't be until Sunday, because I will be out of town from tomorrow until Saturday night.
The underbody is in good condition though, no real rust. It is missing the catalytic converters, as previously mentioned, but the rest of the exhaust is there. The flywheel dust cover is also missing. Not an essential part, but it is missing nonetheless.
Since we're on the topic, I will be out of town from Wednesday night until Saturday night and unable to answer emails, so if anybody replies to or PMs me and I don't answer, please don't think I'm a scammer or anything. I'm just on vacation with some friends lol
Got a couple more pics of the car with the break in the weather we had.
pic of the replacement fender that's included or can be sold separately if the car is parted out
Those are all the pics I could get because the garage is so crowded that I can hardly move around or under the car to get pictures, which is one of the reasons I need to get rid of it.
If it doesn't sell as a whole, I will start parting it out, which would be a shame for a genuine Formy 350 with T Tops
The car is currently not running, but once I pick up some new vacuum line it will be. The car has 2 flat tires and both leak air, but both could be aired up enough to get the car on a trailer without a problem.
I was hoping to get $1200 for it, but at this point I probably would let the whole thing go for $1000 since we pretty much just want it gone.
As far as individual parts go, if sale of the car as a whole fall through, I will get back to you on parting it out as I would much prefer not seeing the car taken apart.
No one wants to work on an abandoned project just so someone can go for a test drive. I'm sure any spare time/money Dan has after working is better spent elsewhere.
Of the three F-bodies I have owned, I only test drove one...the other two I just inspected.
The price range it is in is for project or parts cars, which are definitely not normally test-driven.
I can vouch for Dan being an honest, likable person to deal with.
Yeah I would love to sell the car as a whole, but I don't expect much for it in the condition it's in. I pretty much just need it gone since it's taking up space.
I'm sure my friend and I can get it to run. It almost runs now, it just doesn't quite want to start because of vacuum lines we believe. We'll mess with it soon and try to get it running.
I don't really have the money right now to invest in new tires and all that stuff just so someone can take it for a test drive. If I had that money to invest in it, I certainly would put money into it to clean it up and get more money for it
so i need the front nose, rear bumper cover lights up front and tail lights, would also need the wiring if possible, my project was torn apart by the previous owner bad lol
also the fenders on left and right side
i know lol, i was just trying to reserve those when it does go up (if, hope you can get it sold whole and all though) i wont need the rear cover though, i was able to get one from a fayetteville f-body member. if you can pm me the price for the front nose cover, front fenders and lights that would be great
I'm in Olivebridge, NY. It's near Kingston, about an hour south of Albany. Picking parts up would be great if I do end up parting it out, which is looking more and more likely
might not be able to being that far out lol but i'll try my best to have him get them, if not or just on the safe side if you can find out the ballpark shipping cost I'll send a bank check certified mail
nah don't send any money yet. I'm still waiting until the beginning of August to attempt to sell the car as a whole, something I would much rather do. But In the mean time I will do my best to make up a price list for everything if it does get parted out. Then if it doesn't sell and I do part it, you can get back to me about picking up parts, sending money, etc.
