86 trans am with lt1 $1000 runs and drives with video - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

1986 PONTIAC FIREBIRD TRANS AM
5.7 (350) from a 1993 trans am (lt1 port fuel injected)
auto (700r4 from 3rd gen f body
front and read disc brakes
factory posi rearend
says performance suspension on the dash a friend told me that was a special package

the story:
i bought the car from a friend with a blown motor i swapped the lt1 in (they run around 600 used motor alone without harness ecu or tranny) and was planning to restore it but i have not had time or energy to do so. the lt1 i swapped in is rated around 280 hp which is nearly 100 more than what came in the 3rd gen firebird and camaros. just bought a new truck and dont have room for 4 vehicles come buy this asap

the bad:
front and rear bumpers are pitted (common on these cars). interior needs work dash mat cracked pass and rear seats torn carpet is 20+ years old. paint isnt the best of quality. only problem mechanicly is when the car is cold and your lite on the throttle ( less than 10%) it will shift a little hard from first to second. if you give it more throttle shifts perfect. i think there might be a problem with the line pressure in the tranny being to low.

the good:
starts and drives great everytime. if you notice the car has a slight delay starting in the video it was due to a loose started connection which i fixed a couple days ago. very fast and fun car.
