I have to let go of this Excellent, Third-Gen., one-of-a-kind, 91’ Pontiac Firebird w/Trans-am body kit and T-Tops,w/ new insp. 9/10, (only 70+ miles on it since). It has a V8 305 TPI- 5.0 ltr. Motor, (The motor was rebuilt at 110k (saw doc.), and has only 38k on it now…Purrs! Car has 148k), w/ Hypertech power chip Part # 121362, (have original box w/ stock chip). Car tach’s at 400 @ idle, w/Nice low rumble and Tons of torque! (Only tach’s 2G @ 80mph), Has Edelbrock air, APC breather,10 bolt rear, New custom exhaust w/ high flow cat, Magnaflow style muffler to dual pipes w/SS Magnaflow tips, Brand new tires, (245/60 R15’s rear…215/65 R15’s front), w/ AR-23 rims that have just been painted…Silver Met.II, and brand new center caps (Chrome) w/black lug caps, (see pics). Some other new items are: Brake pads Calipers Rotors Fan belt Blue light fogs Hood supports Hatch support Window sweeps Radiator Bosch Platinum plugs …..I’m sure there’s more I can’t think of….. I also just did an oil change(10/09), and recent coolant flush. Body has Brand New custom paint job, it’s a black w/blue metallic and touch of pearl, w/ blue fading to blue /silver Tribal Ghost Flames from nose going back…Unbelievably Sweet! (See pics)….It catches eyes whenever it’s out. The car is always garaged, and has not seen a winter or a drop of rain since makeover. It has only been driven on dry, cool days. It’s driven it approx. 500 miles/yr.(adult driven, not beat!). It’s Clean (see pics), NO accidents, A/C ice cold, All Pwr. The interior is customed as a theme to the paint. All is done in black w/blue tribal flames, from the Brand new cushioned seat covers, Floor mats, steering cover, to the custom headliner, (the blue int. accent lights set-it-off when it’s dark). It has a Brand New head unit and Kenwood / Dub 6x9 speakers, (which I am leaving in). The head unit is a VR3 model VRVD64OG, GPS & DVD player w/4" monitor, Touch tilt screen & Remote control, and Removable faceplate,(have box w/instruction manual). It has Voice navigation, Touch screen, Video output, SD, USB, Audio & Video aux. Inputs, and plays CD, DVD, WMA, DivX, VCD, CD-R, CD-RW, ID3, RDS, and MP3. I also had a Brand New Python Security system w/ keyless entry & shock sensor installed, Model 460HP (have box w/all intructions & papers). The only downs are, it has a slight split in the air-bag cover, (see pics), and a hairline crack (passes insp.),in the drivers side mirror,(I have the new mirror/glass, it just needs put in). Very rarely, the turn signal arm does'nt seem to click to the right the first time, it's never bothered me at all. At worst, it's a $30 switch at Advance Auto. All this for $4900, it will be hard to find nicer! It's not all hooked up perfomance-wise, like some third-gen's on this site, but that will be for whoever buys it, if that's what they want to do with it. I’m taking a Major loss in selling this car after all the money and time put into it, However, due to some huge, unexpected medical bills, I don’t have a choice. The car looks & runs excellent! Nope, It's a Formula, and far from base. Formula Decals were removed before paint. All papers & VIN confirm that(ins. card also). But maybe that's why I haven't got many replies, I mean if most can't tell it's a Formula?... However, most all of the formula's I see on here don't have the ground effects. As I wrote, there are not that many of these out there.Thanks for the input though.

if the ground effects are original, its not a formy. Formy's never came with the ground effects. Its most likely a base bird that somebody put formula stickers on. Also the base spoiler is a give away, unless they changed the hatch too. Is the RPO sheet still in the rear cargo area locking compartment? it will have ws6 on it if its a formy.

Honestly, i really doubt somebody went through all the hassle of installing the ground effects, swapping the nose and hatch. My money says its not a formy.

Just look for a W66 in the RPO code listing, that will confirm a Formula....

I agree. Someone put a Formula hood on along with a decal kit to make it look Formulized.

Thanks for all the info, I'm gonna check it out. I've had this car for four years, and if someone went though all the bs, and sold it off to me as a formy, I'm gonna be pissed. I've put alot of time and money (paint job the most) into this car. I appreciate your props on the way it looks.

My 89 formy is a real formy, but I did put the base wing on it, took off the formula stickers, put on the front bumper of a base firebird, and said to people it is a 2.8 liter. I kind of got caught though because the sound of the car and some old man told me he knew better because the 2.8's didn't have a speedo that went to 140. Is that true?

Anyway, there are people that will disguise their formy as a base car, I just need different wheels, the rest of the body kit and change the hood and no one would know the difference! Keep that in mind, there are a few post that said it was a base because of the wing and nose. In that case, my car must be a base model already.

Will buy it for $900.

Boxer15, The listing says "reduced 1G", not reduced to 1G. Please look at the whole ad. I think it will help you realize that an offer of $900 is not only an insult, but also clearly insane.
