SOLD!!1990 Firebird Formula/LB9 TPI/ 5-speed_SoCal Car
I originally purchased this car with the intention of swapping in a turbo LS3/T56 and all the goodies that go with it but changed my mind. This is just too nice of a car to do to it what I want to do. I just can’t bring myself to tear apart a tastefully modded, pretty much unmolested virgin car so I’ve decided to sell it someone who will appreciate this well cared for, fairly rare, car and keep looking for my next project.
This is an unmolested SoCal car with 117K miles that spent its entire life on the west coast until I purchased it last spring. This is a 2-owner car that was sold by the original owner in 2011. The original owner was incredibly picky borderline OCD with the car and the all maintenance and modification records for the car. All of the repairs and modifications were professionally installed by either GM Dealerships or various SoCal performance shops INCLUDING Guldstrand Engineering. Most, if not all, of the performance modifications were installed by Guldstrand. The car will be sold along with the LARGE file of records documenting the car since it was new. Documentation items include the original window sticker, build sheets, “Thank you” letter from Pontiac to the new owner, as well as the Pontiac cassette tape that congratulates the new owner on their Firebird purchase. Some of the details on the car are…Southern California car it's entire life, NEVER in an accident, Black exterior, Black cloth interior, Repainted by GM as part of the peeler program, 305 TPI (LB9) /T5, 9-bolt BW disc brake rear with 3.42 gears - Rebuilt by GM with all bearings and seals replaced, 1LE front brake conversion with stainless steel brake lines*, Edelbrock headers and y-pipe (coated) *,Edelbrock lower intake manifold *, Polyurethane front suspension bushings including control arms *, Tubular pan hard bar*, Struts and shocks*, Eibach Sportline Springs front and rear, Aftermarket (not sure brand) cat-back exhaust*, Clutch/pressure plate/flywheel replaced by GM, Fuel pump replace by GM, Fuel injectors replaced by GM, Redline fluids since new, BOTH headlights motors have been rebuilt by GM, Power antenna replaced by GM, Rear hatch pull down replaced by GM. The modifications in BOLD were performed by Guldstrand Engineering. I’ve done the following work to the car since I purchased it…..new heater core, new door weatherstrips, new REAR Polyurethane end-link bushings, new GM front and rear floor mats, new window stops (inside the door), and repaired the sun damaged seat covers on the passenger and rear seat backs. There are not many left in this condition without shelling out a lot more moola; particularly with all the mods. The price for this car is $8,500. I might be open to taking a partial trade for a rust free firebird (complete or not) and additional cash. Any questions, let me know. Chris 720-402-1757
EDIT: I just pulled the car from winter storage; the tires didn't fare so well over the winter so they have been replaced with NEW Sumitomo HTR tires.

I was away for work for a few weeks in March but do not recall ever getting a message. I remember your post and my PM to you, but no voice mail; my loss. Hope you enjoy your purchase, I'm sure it's nice.

This is all I have for right now. Because of work, I won't be able to get any additional pics until this weekend. I'm going to see about also getting it up on a lift and take pics of the underside.

Just found a guy that is shipping a non runner for us from California to IL for 900.
You could have it shipped to my place in IL until you have time to come get it.

It is. Lots of low ballers and a few talkers but still available. In all fairness, it should have been sold but it was my fault it's not; been a crazy, complicated, last few months.

Re: 1990 Firebird Formula/LB9 TPI/ 5-speed_SoCal Car
Let me clarify my last post. The reference I made to “low-ballers and talkers” was not in reference to anyone on this or any other board. I made this comment in reference to the multiple people locally that have chased me down to offer anywhere for $1500 to $3500. I’ve also had 2 people (local again) agree to purchase the car at an agreed upon price and then fail to follow through.
The potential buyers from this board have all been great to talk with. I personally have to take the blame for the first 2 deals falling through since I’m not on the boards much anymore and didn’t communicate back to them soon enough. The result of MY poor follow through was they ended up purchasing a different vehicle.
The last potential buyer (PurelyPMD) and I just couldn’t agree on price. Chris made a fair offer and explained his reasoning, then add to the purchase price the cost of shipping; I understand completely and don’t blame him. I’m sure that if I was local it would be a different story. It’s hard to buy a 25 year old car in a different part of the country, sight unseen, based on the description and ‘word’ of someone you don’t know. I understand that. Bottom line is Chris and I could just not agree on a price. If any of the concerns he mentioned change, it might be a different story.
If you’re interested in the car, the best way to contact me is via my cell phone at 720-402-1757.

Seriously thinking about taking this car on the Power Tour. IF for any reason somebody would want to take this BEAUTIFUL car off my hands, AND save the cost of shaping or hassle of coming to get it, I have a ride home AND you can save shipping!!!!!!!
