Here are some pictures, and here is the story.
Manual
I bought my firebird as my second car after my ford escort. I joined thirdgen and was so mesmerized by all the collectors of these cars, I had really thought these things would skyrocket in value within the next few years. I stopped driving my car when I went to college as I had no need for a car and couldn't afford to keep it insured / keep up with the gas prices. I was pressured into buying a honda civic & needed to borrow money from my mom in order to finance it. I am looking to break even for my car(civic) so I can pay my mom back asap. That being said, this is my car history.
Purchased my vehicle for 2800; The guy I bought it from was building it for drag racing and said that the engine had 40,000 miles on the 5.7L v8. The day I bought it I replaced the windshield wipers. On the way home from autozone my car ended up overheating and the gooseneck blew. I replaced my radiator and the gooseneck. The next few days we replaced the thermostat, water pump, air filter cap, catalytic converter, threw in some 12' kenwood subwoofers with an amp, built a special fbody box so it fits flush in the trunk. a few weeks down the road we swapped out the heatercore along with the alternator & we attempted to redo the header on the interior of the car. Since wanting to sell it, I've replaced the battery too.
I also made a custom modification to the shifter however I believe I stripped the thread on it so it's permanently on there; It's now a grenade shifter.
My dad and I worked on it as a project car, however recently moving to college he moved to Maryland (I live in Wisconsin) and was not nearly as mechanically savvy as he was. I just don't have the time / money / experience to put into this car to make it perfect
The Bad:
The rearview mirror on the windshield fell off while I had it in storage.
The radiator is wired to the heater, so you need to turn on the heat for the radiator to work (Easy fix I think, not sure I know very little about cars).
Air conditioning isn't working as it should, however we were in the process of fixing it before my dad moved and we got as far as replacing the heater core.
The gas tank fits weird so you need to find the right angle when filling up the car.
It gets 12 miles to the gallon if you baby her, but 8 miles to the gallon if you drive like a man.
I wanted to come out and be up front as I LOVED this car, I want someone to take care of her and I invest some heart and soul into her. I no longer have the money nor time.
